my friend and I had the best experience here a few weeks ago! We both had fried chicken & waffles which were to die for, and before that is even served, you get the best biscuits to start off with. All of the staff was extremely friendly and so were the other customers, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It's not in the best of locations but nothing could stop me from dining here again!

I normally come to Amy Ruths whenever i'm in town to visit my daughter who is in college. I very disappointed twice with there cabbage which was not season with the normal. It taste like it was thrown into a pot of water with no season. Prior to my visit the cabbage use to be excellent. I said maybe Amys hire a new cook . I will be searching for other soul food resturants.

I have eaten at this restaurant 3 times and everytime I did the food was great! I had the ludacris and I like it alot and recommend it highly. The cornbread was good, the fried chicken wings were good and the collards were good! The atmosphere is not the best, but if you want good soul food then try this place. The wait outside is not the greatest either, but other than that. The food was great! I would visit more often.....

Came here after clubbing Saturday night and they really could've closed at 12am if the service I received is the norm. Maybe they figured we were all too lit up to notice the poor service, bad food and rude behavior of the staff there late night. Fish was thick and dry. Grits were well gritty and dry too. The eggs were overcooked, and I could've killed someone with my cornbread. Shucks, had I known while I was in there.....it was a mess! There was what I can only call a "bouncer" standing at the register barking orders but not assisting with anything except being loud and intimidating. Even though the 1 guy at the register for takeout was clearly overwhelmed. My food sat in the window for 10 minutes (while I waitched it) and when I had the audacity to ask for my food, I was glared at and given the "eye roll and sigh" as though I was the problem. Like I said, never again and if they can't serve decent food and provide good service late night, please do us all a favor and close at your normal time. Save your money guys or drink A LOT before you come, maybe you won't notice.

I went & ordered take out and was very dissappointed because I didn't get the amount I paid for. I orderd the Honey Diped Chicken Entree which came with two sides (Mac & Cheese, and Corn). The total was exactly $15.12. 1st of all I got 1 piece of leg, drumstick and thigh (still kept together). What? are you serious?? Even KFC's leg & thigh was bigger then that. The sides were sort of a decent size, but the piece of chicken would not even fill up a 5 year. Now, don't get me wrong because the food was tasty, but nothing to go raving about or to make me want to go back anytime soon. It just wasn't filling enough, I still was a bit hungry after that, and I don't even eat alot. I think for the price I paid, they should have at least put 2 peices of legs in the order. Oh yeah, and they give you alittle dried up piece of cornbread too. My mom makes better cornbread than they do. I'm upset I wasted Car fare & $15 on that place... Never again, unless someone else is treating.

Whenever I feel like Southern food but don't want to cook, I go to Amy Ruth for a good meal. Their food is authentic without being overly greasy or unhealthy. I am sure to have a delicious meal whenever I go there. Unfortunately, I do take great exception to their service. Once I ordered the side dish veggie plate (food that is already cooked) and it took 45 minutes from order to serving me, not to mention the 15 minutes waiting to give the order. recently, I waited 6 minutes, before walking out, during which no one so much as even acknowledged my presence. Who knows how long I would have be left waiting. If you can deal with the slack service, then you will receive not only an authentic but a tasty meal. Admittedly, the service in the back room is better than the front and overall once you get the water's attention, you have a chance of getting service. I am terribly frustrated by the lackidasical service in this restaurant, however , and will be avoiding it. In fact I am hoping the owners will see this review and take action. I could use a good piece of fried chicken.
