Great chicken n waffles
If you are looking for a good spot for breakfast/brunch don't hesitate to try Amy Ruth's.I think they put vanilla in the waffle batter b/c the whole restaurant has this lovely vanilla smell. Even their coffee is good here and that's nearly impossible to find in a b'fast spot in Harlem. It's no wonder there are often lines to get in here. Warning: do not sit upstairs...the orange paint is UG-LY and will put you off your food.

Not that good
Living in Harlem for 15 yrs, I've stopped expecting much in regards to service or great food. Amy Ruth's is no exception. I went on a friday, no lines at the Take-out, very few customers dining in, 4 waiter bustling about, and no one wanted to take my order - why, b/c no tip when you take out. Finally, a waiter said if you wait, I'll take your order -- guess who didn't wait. The food isn't even that good, but I was too lazy to cook that night. So everyone who claims they love this place, I wonder if they know real Southern Cuisine, b/c this ain't it.

I'll be back
Sylvia's for the experience but when you're done being a tourist and you just want good food, it's AmyRuth's. Short Ribs were great. Collard Greens were excellent. BEST Mac & Cheese in town. Had to get another order for later that night. Fried chicken wings aren't anything interesting. Can't wait to try their other choices.

Not the best
Being from Scandinavia, I've not had privilege of experiencing this sort of cuisine, so when friends suggested we go here after a night of drinking in Midtown, I was looking forward to the experience. In a nutshell... food was mediocre, staff was not very friendly and ambiance left a lot to be desired. Also found the neighborhood to be a real fright. Perhaps it is nicer during the day, it was my first time traveling uptown. I do not think I would go back again.

Good Heavens
Chicken over cooked-dry and lots of congealed grease.Waited to be served while everyone else in room was taken care of.Room manager rude. Restaurant manager sweet but almost in tears taking my complaint. Bad food, bad service and scary people.
