This place is a notch above the rest. Everything we tried was good. The miso eggplant was delicious and was yuzu flavored--not a typical ingredient for this dish.

Just tried this place tonight after walking by it many times without giving it a try. All he reviews were right on - grade A fresh fish and delicious cooked items as well. The sushi and sashimi platter was high-end restaurant quality for reasonable price. Truly friendly and accommodating service and very nice ambiance too. The place wasn't as busy as it should be, which tells me many like us are missing out on this find. Do us all a favor and go.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. I've been several times since it has opened and have been impressed each time by the taste/quality of the food. Even the basic green salad stands out because they use nice lettuce (not iceburg) and add other veggies too. The fish tastes very fresh and they have a good variety of rolls. Service is friendly/attentive too.

great delivery. quick, and reliable. fish is fresh. I eat sushi 4 - 5x per week so i judge pretty harshly. I eat simple rolls, no specials. salmon avocado, california etc. not cheap, not expensive. Never disappointed. I have had delivery about 4 times already and dine in once. have nothing bad to say. give it a try. remember it is BYOB. great addition to the neighborhood.

I have eaten a lot of sushi over very many years, particularly on the UES. Sushi aficionados tend to have specific requirements for their sushi. Personally I like fresh sushi that is decently priced where the portions are reasonable. Amura is a noteworthy new comer, particularly in a neighborhood where the completion is fierce. The sushi is fresh; the service is friendly and highly accommodating. The restaurant is currently BYO which is such a perk; why not select that great bottle of wine that allows you to dine in a great atmosphere while keeping the cost down. Each party is served a complimentary appetizer which is chopped tuna on a chip with fresh avocado, it is quite tasty. Personally I do not like my sushi rolls chopped (unless it is spicy tuna). I prefer sliced fish. I have let the staff know this and they have easily accommodated that request. We have been there at least 10 times and the found service is great and the menu also offers a new twist on favorites like salmon skin salad (served hot) and Japanese salad dressing. Get a bottle of wine and give it a shot you won’t be disappointed.
