Possibly the worst salmon ever
Came here regularly for the salmon teriyaki. On my last visit however, there was a change in price (up to $19) and quality (fish was extremely fatty and burnt). If the restaurant is under new management, shame on you.

disappointed
i ate here last week and ordered a few rolls that were pretty good so i decided to do take out and i was so disappointed. i ordered Broiled Sea Bass which was supposed to be served with sweet corn, vegetables & sweet black bean reduction sauce. when the food arrived. the sea bass was the size of my palm and it came with broccoli and rice, which was not stated at all on the menu. The shumai was not good at all. i will give it another try but what a disappointment

New Fave Sushi Bar 2nd Ave
After Sushi Hana closed (78th & 2nd) we've been knocking around for a new place for raw fish in the nabe. Voila! Amura. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. Artful preparations. Good Sake. OK wine. Cheerful, efficient service. Nice food, nice people, nice place!

Top Notch.
This is an excellent Japanese restaurant. The gyoza are incredible and make sure you try the Spicy Salmon Pizza. Trust me just order it. I probably wouldn't have ordered this myself if I had simply seen it on the menu but the sushi chef Joe San offered me a sample and let me just put it this way: it tastes so good your knees will buckle and your taste buds will be in ecstasy! Try it and see for yourself!

One of the best Japanese on the upper east side
This place is a notch above the rest. Everything we tried was good. The miso eggplant was delicious and was yuzu flavored--not a typical ingredient for this dish.

A real surprise! (good one)
Just tried this place tonight after walking by it many times without giving it a try. All he reviews were right on - grade A fresh fish and delicious cooked items as well. The sushi and sashimi platter was high-end restaurant quality for reasonable price. Truly friendly and accommodating service and very nice ambiance too. The place wasn't as busy as it should be, which tells me many like us are missing out on this find. Do us all a favor and go.

Great neighborhood sushi spot!
I would highly recommend this restaurant. I've been several times since it has opened and have been impressed each time by the taste/quality of the food. Even the basic green salad stands out because they use nice lettuce (not iceburg) and add other veggies too. The fish tastes very fresh and they have a good variety of rolls. Service is friendly/attentive too.
