greek entertainment?
being attracted to live greek music we tried ammos once again. Even with the new table arrangement is a disaster. The place is dimly lit and ithe table seating allows only two large tables to be able to paraticipate of the dancing. The rest of the clientele is subject too look from the distance and is blocked from the dance floor due to the bad lay out of the tables. A gracious host but the evening was ruined.Once again a big dissapointment in spite of a good band. We could have stayed outisde and look from the window as only a selected table had easy access to the dance floor. Undecided if we will try this place again.

best octopus in town
I've been few times at Ammos restaurant , because it's located close to my job . The last time i went i was really impressed! It looks like a brand new restaurant . The new management has done a great job , the place is gorgeous! I had dinner with my friends at a Friday night; they had a Greek night with live greek music.. We all felt like we were in a small island in greece!Ouzo and tsipouro(greek grappa) didn't stop pouring till the late hours. Our waiter was greek so it was double the fun; very attentive and professional with vast knowledge of the wine list. The lavraki, a mediterranean sea bass was really fresh and the grilled octopus with shaved fennel was to die for. Will i go again ? Hell yeah! The food is amazing an the staff very friendly! I highly recommend!

Great food, intresting personalities
I usually go upper east side in places that you have to pay more that you should do.. just to get good food, service and meet nice persons- This time a friend of mine took me at Ammos on 45 st. corner and Vanderbilt and I had an amazing experience, The staff was very hospitable and pleasant with lots of fun knowing how to treat ladies, food was really tasty. At the end they gave us a superb dessert wine called Samos made from muscat grape- it's good to know a great place in Midtown- I will defenatly go back again and proudly recoment it to my friends

excellent Greek restaurant
I went to Ammos for first time last week. I was really impressed with the food and the service. The appetizers were amazing, I am still craving the stuffed calamari and the spanakopita I had. My server was very attentive and the manager was visiting our table at every course. The abience was very calm and it reminded me of my last visit at Greece. I am looking forward to going back with friends.
