    f'in great indian!

Love Amin. Seriously. I've lived in the area for the past 5 years and have had nothing but incredible food and service from this place. I don't understand all the bad reviews! Sure the atmosphere is pretty crazy (neon blue lights make me feel like im eating in an aquarium) however they more than make up for it with their awesome food and super friendly staff. I've gotten appetizers on the house just about every time I've eaten there and have never had to wait more than 20 minutes for delivery. And as someone who's eaten at a plethora of indian restaurants both in the city and Brooklyn, I'd say the prices are more than fair for the quality of food. As long as you're not expecting a trough of 5 star cuisine for less than $10 bucks, I promise you won't be disappointed by this place!

    Great food, poor service

I've only ordered delivery from there, and while the food is good, there are delis next to taxi stands all over the city which have food which is as good or better for 1/3 of the price. The last time I called, they did not even have pickled mango available, so suffice to say I seriously doubt many actual Indian people there regularly. The delivery is an absolute joke. It takes 45 minutes to get your food, the order is often wrong, and whatever price they quote you on the phone, expect to pay a dollar or two more. If they forget an item, which happened to me 3 times, it will take another 45 minutes to get it and it will be cold. Take out only.

Good Indian food at a great price

The food was delicious and the portions were great for me and my date. The prices are very good, and the service was excellent.

    Review by a regular

I love Amin. I order delivery a few times a month. The food is so tasty and hearty. Whenever I call or stop by, they are very friendly and make me feel like a valued customer. My husband calls me a chana masala connoisseur - Amin's is great. And their samosas are awesome. Lately I've started getting their breads and those are yummy too. I've never been disappointed by this restaurant.

    Tiny portions of blandness

I've never eaten in the restaurant, only ordered take out several times. The food is okay. Nothing special, and it's inconsistent. I order the same thing every time. Some days the chana saag is spicy; some days it's bland mush. Sometimes the chicken tikka masala is pretty good; some days it's greasy red soup with a few chunks of chicken in it. What's most annoying is that the portion sizes are way too small for the prices. When the order arrives, the plastic take out containers are only half full. Hardly entree-sized portions. This place really needs improvement.

    not amazing

I don't usually write reviews for restaurants but this one disappointed me quite a bit so I thought I would try and help both you and them out by writing a review. I got take-out there and they gave me the tiniest little serving of rice that could not possibly soak up the curry I ordered. I paid $16.50 for 1 piece of garlic naan and some curry that was very average. It was extremely sweet and salty at the same time, and had about a quarter inch of oil or grease on the top of the container; yuck. They charged an extra $1 for lamb, which I got literally about 2 to 3 ounces of--I mean it was ridiculous. I went home expecting to have dinner taken care and something left over for the next day but I wasn't even full after eating everything. With all the great Indian restaurants in the city, why eat here?

    Absolutely Amazing!!

I only just arrived in NY last week. Last night I ordered from here for the first time. I have to say that it was absolutely amazing. Ordered the chicken tikka - full of flavour, the saag panir and the chicken vindaloo. I highly recommend this place. The phone operator was very pleasant and when I asked how long they said half and hour, it arrived in 15minutes! Very surprised. Very happy with the food and the service, I would definately order again!
