Is this a restaurant? In NYC? Salad of wilted, brown-edged lettuce, awful crumbled cheese. Chicken part ok, part burned, part gristly. Price excessive. Service ok considering you know what it is at the start--order @ counter & they bring it to table. Never again!

awful service, not the servers' fault; the whole place is poorly conceived and carried out miserabky as the servers attempt to get the food to tables, customers with drinks try to find seats; meals arrive late. My bartender offered Gr. Veltliner by mistake (had asked for Gruet bubbly) and replaced it but it was v expensive, small glass, food ok but more style than substance.

It is advertised as being open until 10 p.m. While we ordered copious food and drinks at 8:30 (you order at the counter the food is brought to your table), a waiter told us at 9 they were getting ready to close, at 9:15 the manager told us they were preparing to close, and at 9:30 the manager sent a security guard to our table to tell us to leave. We put our remaining food in containers, bolted our drinks and left. I would never patronize this place again, and I strongly advise others to do the same. Too bad, the location is good and the food is tasty, but to be kicked out of a restaurant a half hour after they have allowed you to order food and a full hour before the announced closing time is simply unacceptable.

I was really looking forward to this new space, given the wonderful vibe at Red Rooster. They used the same format as the previous space: you give you order at the bar & they deliver your food. At 8:30 last night, there were only 3 table occupied. The food was ok, the atmosphere depressing & the cafe at the Elinor Bunin Theater has better food & more ambience.
