The BEST Asian Fusion on the Upper East Side

There is no better place to get Japanese food on the upper east side of Manhattan. The sushi is fresh, large, and reasonably priced. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere -- particularly in the quiet, TV free, candle lit back room is sublime. Add to this cocktails that are truly unique -- I particularly recommend the frozen green tea margharita -- a total yumfest will be had by all -- guaranteed!!!

    A cocktail lover's paradise

Amber has amazing Asian cuisine but above that I would give it five stars for their cocktail menu. They make the second best lychee martini in Manhattan (after Nobu's of course). Yum!

    We loved it....

We visited Amber the last time we were passing through NYC. It was recommended by a friend who lives in the area. We found the sushi extraordinary. It was a little more pricey than what we are used to in the Boston area BUT the portions were larger and the quality was excellent. We plan to eat here whenever we are in the city.

This restaurant run out of desert !!!!!

Sushi was good, drinks were good but the service should be rated 1 out of 30 on Zagat. First a waiter was keep asking us if we are ready to order. Then the manager came and asks us to give up one table since they needed more tables for other customers. So, seven of us (everyone was under 170 lbs) had squeeze in at our table. For grand finale, when we asked for a desert menus we have been told that they RUN OUT. To explain themselves they said that they had a busy Friday night!!!! I think they just wanted to sit the next group at our table and this was an excuse.

    Best sushi so far.

This is a great place to eat. The sushi was awesome and so was the mussels I had last time. This place is a little expensive. The freshness of the fish and the decent portion makes it worth it.
