Repeat Offender (Patron:-)
This trendy Asian venue offers the freshest sushi on the block. I walk past 4 other sushi spots to eat here and I have yet to be dissapointed. The service is impeccable. Regardless of their newly acquired "trendy" reputation, they recognize familiar faces and embrace new ones. The food is "kick ass' and so are the cocktails. Rast assures that this review is genuine and not one conjured up from the owner or any of his friends. I am truly a happy patron. Treat yourself!

Best sushi in Murray Hill
I have never written a review of a restaurant before, but I have been so pleasantly surprised i had to do it. The sushi is amazing, especially the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls. The pad thai is delicious as is the shumai. I highly recomend this place. You will not be sorry!

Now this is sushi!
I brought my girlfriend here for dinner tonite and it was the best meal at a Japanese place we have had yet. We went early..at 5:30, so even though there were patrons at the bar, we were the first eating dinner. The ahi ahi sashimi appetizer was presented very creatively, with the fish made to look like a boat and a fisherman with a spear. The sea bass on skewers was succulent and tender. That being said, the appetizers were portioned small, and both were gone after 6 bites. I ordered the AMBER sushi platter, and the waitress actually asked me what I would like and what I wouldn't like. I asked for sea urchin and scallop and sure enough got what I asked for. The pieces of sushi were HUGE, twice the size of a normal piece of sushi you get anywhere else, and the assortment of fish and sea creatures was fresh and delicious..and beautifully presented. The sushi was $25...the best value dollar for dollar I have ever seen (and eaten) for sushi. Other places..yeah, you're looking at $45- $50, Bub. So 2 drinks, 3 appetizers, my deluxe sushi entree, and the curry tofu my girlfriend had came to $95..and they gave us desert on the house, which was a layers od vanilla and crepe and was ..again..delicious..like everything else. The waitress and wait staff were very nice and attentive, but not overbearing even though we were the only ones there for the first 45 minutes. Just less than 100 smackaroos for a meal that good?....in NYC?....I would never have believed it before. Now I am a believer, and will be going back soon.

So good!
This place has really really good food. We live in the neighborhood and have been to Amber several times since they opened about 3 months ago. The service is great, the drinks are tasty and the food is seriously pretty amazing! I'm so happy to finally have a great sushi place in the area!!

Good place for friends or date
Nice bar for after work drinks, they’re not cheep but are strong. The food is excellent and it has a good mix on the menu so everyone can find something they like. They staff is friendly and attentive and the loud top40 music helps make the atmosphere fun and fill awkward silences.

yum
The food here is so good and the atmosphere adds to it. This is the kind of place where you have to get a sushi roll as an appetizer and get one of the entres as your main course. Definately worth checking out!

a trendy place perfect for a group party
We went to Amber last weekend for my friend's bday weekend, and it was the best party that we had, the food, atmosphere, service, music, etc. The Pan-Asian food was quite nice, and definitely worth the money. We love it and will definitely come back often.
