unexpectedly amazing!!!
What a fantastic little hole in the wall. We didn't know what to expect from the initial curb appeal but I'm always willing to be a little risky, and I'm glad that I was. The best Thai food we have ever had. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the chicken and lettuce wrap was amazingly superb. The green curry was good as well as well as the complimentary fried ice cream that the owner gave us before we left. We will return over and over and over again!

mediocre at best
the duck was not cooked. Even though the delivery was fast, I was not impressed with the quality of the pad thai and I feel that the meal was extremely overpriced. I won't order here again.

I'm a Thai snob
So this place is really just around the block from my shop. I have eaten there a number of times and have taken a date there. It's the most authentic Thai place in this part of the village. Having traveled many times in Thailand and Laos, this would be my pick of favorites. The owner is right there and he is actually Thai which is harder to find these days. I find him to be attentive and friendly. The food taste like it does in the home country and it's not dumbed down for a tourist palate. You can actually get into the place most nights which is also a blessing in this neighborhood. I never go there if I am in a hurry but then I seldom am. Overall I love this place but please don't tell anyone else about unless they are nice.

Ate Here Twice in One Night!
I love this place. I stopped by with friends for a super-quick pre-theater (downtown theater) snack, and had to leave before finishing the meal. I spent the entire play thinking about the lime and spice-flavored calamari yum and shrimp soup. I went back after the play, ordered the same thing, and finished my meal. I just ordered take-out today, a week later. I'll see how that is.

Unremarkable
The whole experience was sub-par from the get-go. A TV was on (what is up with TVs at restaurants?), service was slow (I realize that to-go orders are usually meant to be processed first, but don't finish two whole orders before I even get my spring rolls), and the decoration was typical, if not a bit cluttered (wires hanging from the walls, etc). My noodles were undercooked and the sauce was forgetable; spring rolls had more rice noodles than vegetables in them, which is always disappointing (for me). Most prices were reasonable, however. Overall, I would not recommend, unless you live in the area and want speedy take out.

A very pleasant experience
A friend who lives in Amaya's neighborhood and eats there often, took me there last night for dinner. We shared an order of Thai spring rolls (very refreshing) and I had the seafood noodle soup (very tasty and very filling). The server - Wes - was a really sweet man and very attentive. I also liked the interior (red walls and an open feeling). There was only one other couple in the restaurant (it was a Tuesday evening), but meanwhile they were doing a thriving take-out (delivery) business. I'd definitely return.

Meh
I ordered from Amaya the other night, it was ok. Nothing special. I had the Basil w/beef and while the food wasn't bad, it lacked flavor and was not at all spicy. I probably won't be going back to Amaya.
