    Good and "real Thai spicy"

I love everything I've ever ordered from this place, and if you like your food hot, this is your place. I've never had a restaurant ask me if I wanted my pad thai spicy. That's commitment. And ya, it was mind alteringly hot. They do warn you, "it's real thai spicy, ok?"

This is what Thailand REALLY tastes like.

I don't know about you, but I'm over feeling like I'm walking into a techno rave every time I feel like eating in a Thai restaurant. This place is the real deal.

    ,Beacons of

We saw all the good reviews on the website so we ordered from this place. I (my girlfriend's boyfriend) got the vegetable curry, which was passable, not great red curry, but edible. My girlfriend got the pad thai with tofu and it was NASSSSTY. It tasted like fish cut into fine strips, salted, and disguised as noodle. Plus, it was buried beneath a forest of bean sprouts. Speaking of bean sprouts, we also ordered some of the fresh spring rolls, which were comprised entirely of the aforementioned ingredient. My girlfriend hated them. I thought they were not very good. I offered my girlfriend some of my red curry so she basically ended up having rice with red curry sauce for dinner, which was better than the pad thai.

    reliable and tasty

I have been ordering from Amarin since I moved to Greenpoint 8 years ago. I think of the dozens of times I've ordered there have been maybe 3 times I've been disappointed. The food is not 100% consistent but I'd say it's at least 75% consistent, which is pretty impressive for an 8 year run. The pad thai is generally great, the green curry and the pad see yew (sp??) are delicious - the mashed potatos are - oddly - really really good! I've relied on Amarin and I'm very glad they're in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.

    Simply Excellent

I've been going to and ordering from Amarin for years, and I've never been disappointed. The food is simply delicious. When I ask for something to be spicy, they make it ridiculously spicy. The staff is friendly and efficient, and deliveries are always fast.

    Are you kidding me?

This place has one of the better ratings for Thai places in Greenpoint, so we thought we'd try it out. What a mistake! Prices and service are just fine. But the food was not! I'm not sure if I just got the wrong thing or what? I got spicy noodles with chicken-- chicken was fatty and chewy and it wasn't spicy at ALL. My fiance got the pad thai with chicken, he kept saying it wasn't very good. I took a bite and I had to spit it out it was so bad. I will admit that this doesn't seem to be the norm according to these reviews so maybe we just ordered on a bad night? Whatever the case, you could not pay us to go back!
