    reliable and tasty

I have been ordering from Amarin since I moved to Greenpoint 8 years ago. I think of the dozens of times I've ordered there have been maybe 3 times I've been disappointed. The food is not 100% consistent but I'd say it's at least 75% consistent, which is pretty impressive for an 8 year run. The pad thai is generally great, the green curry and the pad see yew (sp??) are delicious - the mashed potatos are - oddly - really really good! I've relied on Amarin and I'm very glad they're in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.

    Simply Excellent

I've been going to and ordering from Amarin for years, and I've never been disappointed. The food is simply delicious. When I ask for something to be spicy, they make it ridiculously spicy. The staff is friendly and efficient, and deliveries are always fast.

    Are you kidding me?

This place has one of the better ratings for Thai places in Greenpoint, so we thought we'd try it out. What a mistake! Prices and service are just fine. But the food was not! I'm not sure if I just got the wrong thing or what? I got spicy noodles with chicken-- chicken was fatty and chewy and it wasn't spicy at ALL. My fiance got the pad thai with chicken, he kept saying it wasn't very good. I took a bite and I had to spit it out it was so bad. I will admit that this doesn't seem to be the norm according to these reviews so maybe we just ordered on a bad night? Whatever the case, you could not pay us to go back!

    Above average Thai in Greenpoint

Amarin Cafe has become my every-other-night spot for massaman curry and fried spring rolls. Nothing too adventurous or difficult but it's consistently delicious and the service is always sooo good. None of that low-quality greasy shit that some places try to pass as chicken. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for good Thai in the area.

    Yummy Thai

Great Thai food for cheap! BYOB makes this place a great cheap night out. Watch out for the spicy meals, even if you love spicy food, order the medium. They are serious about their spice!!

    Best Green Papaya salad ever

No where else is the green papaya salad so spicy, sour and sweet without being greasy. The bean curds with basil is great as is the vegetarian duck entree which is not even on the menu but is always available even for delivery. Veggie duck salad also fab, as is the red curry. Also it's the only Thai restaurant I've heard of that offers "Thai Lemonade" they don't always have it but if they do get it. It's super sour limey tasting ade which they've said to me even has a touch of salt.
