My wife and I went here on the strength of good reviews and were disappointed. It's very stylish, but the music is loud and obnoxious and the staff are not very competent. Our appetizer arrived beore our bread or wine. Then the entrees came out before we were even half way through the appetizer - they took them away and kept them warm, and needless to say the result was not very good. The calamari was tasty, but small portioned. The sea bass was oleaginous and swamped in a pungent sauce that hid the fish flavor (perhaps to the good). The smoked pork chop was good, but the bed of vegetables was oily and mushy. The chocolate dessert recommended by the waitress was over-sweet and heavy. Don't believe the hype on this one.

I ate at Amalia with my boyfriend and absolutely loved it. We sat down in the back of the restaurant and immeadiately I looked up to find beautiful frames on the ceiling. After ordering, the salmon I was completely impressed. The waiter was knowledgable and the service was perfect. The food came out in a timely manner and tasted delicious. the menu is a bit pricey but the food and atmosphere is WELL WORTH IT! I'll be back soon!

Had an amazing evening. great food, cocktails, ambiance & service. We liked it so much we stayed around after dinner and had a drink in the lounge downstairs, which was a totally different vibe than upstairs but just as cool. I'll go back for the lamb osso buco.

Very snotty atmosphere from both the clientele and the staff. If that's your thing, then you'll love it. The food is fair at best. Very extensive wine list.

The decor is really unique and beautiful and the same can be said about the menu. Everything I tasted was extraordinary. Staff was friendly and extremely knowledgable. The lounge downstairs (D'Or) is something to behold. Chic and sophisticated without being snooty. A welcome addition to the nieghborhood.

I went to dinner at Amalia and had a fantastic time. Once you enter the restaurant you get a warm welcome from the hostess, the service is amazing and the food is delicious. They also have a great selection of wines by the bottle as well as by the glass. The atmosphere is great as well.

I ate at Amalia with a friend about a week ago. While the atmosphere was nice and the food was decent, it was not worth the price. For what it cost, we could have had a MUCH better meal somewhere else. I had the ribeye which was not a very good cut of meat and I think it was around $50. I would have been satisfied if the meal had been maybe half the price but I ended up just feeling taken by the time we left. I doubt I'll be returning any time soon.
