I brought my wife to Alta for her birthday dinner and both of us were extremely satisfied with the entire experience. While we were a bit nervous to go to dinner hungry based upon previous reviews, we found that the portions are generous for tapas and that we did not have to over order and/or pay out the wahzoo in order to have a grown up sized meal. If you order between 2-3 plates per person you should be fine! The specialty cocktails were tasty and fun and we were able to have a special celebratory evening without dropping too much cash. I will definitely go back and recommend Alta to anyone interested!

The food was ok...yes the much touted Brussels sprouts were very good, but the service was SO subpar that they automatically add 20 percent knowing they will get nothing otherwise. Had to ask for water 4 times and finally just held my glass up and stuck in servers face. Food was thrown down on the table quickly in hopes they could seat another party soon.

Came here for probably the 6th time, and while the menu was slightly changed, it still did not disappoint. We had the Duck Crustini, Oysters, Mussels, Brussel Sprouts, Empinadas, Crab Ravioli, Sea Urchin Risotto, and Merguez. The duck was pretty good, the honey complimented the duck really well. The osyters were ok... not really worth the money though, nothing special. The mussels come in a fantastic broth... I would happly have paid $10 to drink the broth alone. The brussel sprouts are old reliable on the menu... never fails. The empinadas were good... nice spice on the sauce. The Sea Urchin was like eating seafood butter. The urchin just melted in my mouth. Best thing we had, by far. The crab ravioli was pretty good... probably would have enjoyed it more if I had not had the Sea Urchin immedinately before it. For dessert we had the hazelnut binets... those were ok. Service was alright... was nothing spectacular, but no complaints. 8 dishes, 1 dessert, a bottle of wine, tax, and tip came out to $145.

The food and wine list are good. The bartender not so much. If you do go, definitely try the squid ink paella.

Overpriced small portions even for tapas! Wait staff mediocre at best. Ambience OK, nothing special. Im still troubled how all they have available is late evening rsvn's when its just not that good. Regardless, I will never be returning

This place is a cool spot for me considering I live 1 block away. I had 2 misses there in the past 4 years but otherwise mostly hits.
