Relaxing Ymmy Lunch
In town for lunch with friends and tried the Almond just from searching on the internet. What a delightful find. I visit the Flatiron District periodically and will definately go back. The atmosphere was relaxing, food tasty and good portions. I recommend you trying it out !

Bad Steak
There are times in your life when you totally don't understand why you didn't react to a situation. I can only say it was because my friend and I were excited to see each other. We both ordered steak frite. When it arrived I thought it tasted funny, but put mustard on it an began to focus on my friend not willing to ruin our time. But, a few bites in and I couldn't eat it any longer. The waiter asked how I like it. I said it was the worst steak I'd ever had. Then my friend said hers tasted funny. He was apologetic and came back saying we would get a free dessert. Big deal. A week later and I'm still upset. To think a chef in a good restaurant would risk his reputation and all his learning to serve bad meat. Never again.

Great lunch spot
I met a friend at Almond for lunch a few weeks ago. It was a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We both had the pre-fixe, which was both reasonably priced and very tasty. The service was attentive, but not rushed. Overall, a very good lunch spot. I can't wait to try this place for dinner.

Great brunch spot
Went to Almond for brunch this afternoon and it is now one of our top brunch spots. The location and outdoor seating is perfect, and the food was delicious. I had the omelette with chorizo -- definitely a repeat. The service was not great - had to ask a few times for water and coffee, but overall this place is awesome and will be in the brunch rotation.

Has it all!
Almond has it all. The service is amazing and the management is also the best I've seen in a long time. The ambiance is comfortable and chic, without being over the top. Plus it has the option for outdoor seating. I love having the option of sitting on the patio. On top of all that you have amazing food and drinks for good value. The pomegranite martini my favorite - the cinnamon sugar rub around the edge of the glass makes the drink. I would dare say they might have the best macaroni and cheese in the city - complete with hefty shavings of black truffles and prosciutto. The mussels are also delicious. They're soaked in a beautiful white wine, sauce toped with shallots and parsley. They are perfectly cooked - not a chewy one in the bunch! the large order is perfect for sharing 4, or as an entree. And the classic croque monsieur brings me back to the streets of Paris. As an added bonus, they have "disco fries" - otherwise known as Cheese Fries Quebecoise. They're crispy, perfectly fried shoestring fries covered in gravy, and cheese. It doesn't get better than that. I highly recommend you try this place, and you won't be disappointed.

great neighborhood place
I've been to Almond countless times since it opened, and I've always left very happy. It's a great space, large with plenty of room between tables. The staff is very friendly and the service has always been good. The food is very good. If you want comfort food the mac and cheese or burger are great options. Save room for dessert, those are great too!
