    Great time great Mac

Me and a friend stumbled into Almond last week after a rough hangover. We sat at the bar for lunch and the blonde bartender was so sweet and understanding of our plight. She suggested bloody marys and added extra Tabasco for us. She then led us through the whole menu telling us what was good for hangovers. We both ordered Mac and cheese. O. M. G. It was perfect. She was always around but never pushy or in our faces. Def coming back to this place.

    Ok

Food was good. Service not so great- we asked to taste some wine. The waitress brought us one glass to share. I asked if we could each have our own glass to taste because I was sick, and she just glared at me and didn't budge. The restaurant was less than 1/4 full too. For their prices I expect better service. I will not return.

    Relaxing Ymmy Lunch

In town for lunch with friends and tried the Almond just from searching on the internet. What a delightful find. I visit the Flatiron District periodically and will definately go back. The atmosphere was relaxing, food tasty and good portions. I recommend you trying it out !

    Bad Steak

There are times in your life when you totally don't understand why you didn't react to a situation. I can only say it was because my friend and I were excited to see each other. We both ordered steak frite. When it arrived I thought it tasted funny, but put mustard on it an began to focus on my friend not willing to ruin our time. But, a few bites in and I couldn't eat it any longer. The waiter asked how I like it. I said it was the worst steak I'd ever had. Then my friend said hers tasted funny. He was apologetic and came back saying we would get a free dessert. Big deal. A week later and I'm still upset. To think a chef in a good restaurant would risk his reputation and all his learning to serve bad meat. Never again.

    Great lunch spot

I met a friend at Almond for lunch a few weeks ago. It was a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We both had the pre-fixe, which was both reasonably priced and very tasty. The service was attentive, but not rushed. Overall, a very good lunch spot. I can't wait to try this place for dinner.

    Great brunch spot

Went to Almond for brunch this afternoon and it is now one of our top brunch spots. The location and outdoor seating is perfect, and the food was delicious. I had the omelette with chorizo -- definitely a repeat. The service was not great - had to ask a few times for water and coffee, but overall this place is awesome and will be in the brunch rotation.
