Great food, great view.
I had dinner this week at Alma Restaurant. My friends and I waited for a short while for a table on the roof terrace and I'm glad we did! The views were spectacular. I ordered a cucumber margarita which was delicious. My friends had a frozen pomegranate margarita and a mango margarita which they also liked. I recommend the chilaquiles for an appetizer. Cheesy, spicy goodness. My entree was the rellano which was with Gouda cheese and short ribs. Unique and flavorful. Our server was friendly and attentive, if a little slow. But that seemed to be because she was busy. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the experience. I already recommended to friends.

Unreliable
I called to arrange a party for a Thursday night in August. The person I spoke to was very friendly and quoted me a price. I asked if I could call back the following day to book and he told me yes, call and ask for one of the owners. I called the following day and was greeted with attitude and a new price quote that was doubled. I was willing to pay a little more, but doubling the price and speaking down to a loyal customer was too much. I have used this restaurant for business dinners in the past, but will no longer do so. There are plenty of restaurants in Brooklyn who have a more orgnaized management and treat their customers with respect.

Go for the view
Had dinner there Saturday night. Was lucky to get a table on the roof which is really the only reason to go. The food is okay, not great. Drinks are prettygood. Service is slow. You've got to keep flagging down your server or they will just ignore you. I've been wanting to go there for a long time and now that I've been, I can't see what I was so excited about. I wouldn't go back only because of the cost and service.

Just OK
Sure, the view is nice but its really not a great restaurant. We ordered sangria and it was borderline undrinkable - too sappy/sweet. The food was OK, but overpriced for what it is. I had read all the reviews and decided to go anyway to see for myself. With so many other really great restaurants in this neighborhood I don't need to go to a mediocre one.

Stick with the Bar!
Below Alma is a great neighborhood bar called B61. If you climb the stairs you will find a very popular restaurant called Alma. Although the view and atmosphere are great, the food tastes very similar to something you would buy frozen and heat up in a microwave. And to add insult to injury, it's PRICEY. If you're going to eat there, hang out at the bar downstairs for awhile. Even subpar food tastes better with a nice buzz!

Okay, but excellent view
Alma is okay, not great. It is really overpriced and I personally make better Guacamole than they do. The tres leches cake was good and I recommend it. I just cannot justify spending so much money on just okay Mexican food. Save your cash on the food and just have some drinks for the view.
