Great food and service in an amazing atmosphere
This was not my first time visiting Alma33 and I was very happy to sample many of their new fall dishes. I had previously enjoyed their signature dish, the Argentine mixed grill and was pleased to see they had upped the ante and now offer a King Mixed Grill complete with a T-bone steak. The waitress took the liberty of ordering my wife and I a side of spinach on the house to balance out the meat. The spinach had a delicious flavor and treating us to the dish was definitely a nice gesture. You can see that they really care about their customers rather than just go through the motions. In addition our waitress suggested we try the short rib ravioli which made for an amazing appetizer along with the humita empanadas which we could not resist having again since we have been dreaming of them since our last visit. We topped off the meal with a bottle of tempranilllo and the bread pudding which was fantastic but took a little while to get to the table. All in all another fabulous meal in a beautiful setting. The music, fresh flowers, pumpkins and candles all made us feel cozy and was very intimate. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Good food, great atmosphere, would come back
I was here with a medium sized group (7 people) in October, and after a brief hiccup at first we had a great meal. The cocktails were yummy and not overly expensive. We tried several tapas as appetizers, and while everything was very tasty, the portions were definitely small, even for tapas. We liked the empanadas, though $4.50 each is a stretch. The polenta short-rib was solid, but definitely a bit small. On the other hand, the entrees were all well portioned, and my steak was terrific. Another member of our party had the veal Milanese, which was enormous and tasty. As for service, our waitress was extremely attentive and really sweet as well. One note- apparently they have had some recurring issues with reservations, so you may want to confirm, and double confirm your reservation. I would probably take down the person's name you spoke with too. They did not have our reservation for, 7 people for a birthday, anywhere in their computer.

Fabulous people Watching; Excellent food
Love this new neighborhood hangout!!! Get their early if you want to grab the prime front window seats! My friend and I went crazy for the Sangria, apparently a recipe from one of the worker's mothers in Barcelona. Tried the corn empanadas, the shrimp skewers and the cheese plate which were all delicious! Someone next to us ordered the fries and we could not resist since they smelled so good we had to try them for ourselves. They had garlic, parsley and lemon zest and are not to be missed! Looking forward to going back to try their dinner menu but I will definitely return to enjoy some drinks, apps and enjoy the view from the front window.

This place is a great addition to neighborhood; too bad service is not good
I was in the restaurant last Friday evening (13th) and the food and drinks were really good. The owner and maitre 'd were not friendly though, even after we had spent an excess of $1500. No one in our party was rowdy and we were spoken to about giving up our table; there weren't even ppl waiting. Please note that the service (i.e. waitress) was phenomenal and extremely courteous and the low rating is not reflected on her. I would consider going back if I heard it was under new ownership. You've been warned.

Great find
Saw this restaurant on dining deals and decided to give it try. My husband and I tried the parrilada that was featured on the segment along with the chicken empanadas. Great wine list. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful space. Definitely one to add to my list of local dinner/date spots.

Perfect Night Out
I had a very memorable experience at Alma 33 with friends on my birthday. Although the restaurant was crowded they sat us pretty quickly. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. They have a ton of reasonably priced wines by the glass and though we ordered many dishes to share my personal favorite was the skirt steak which was cooked to perfection. Other highlights were the tartar, empanadas and the veal milanese. Upon finding out it was my birthday, the staff brought out a variety of desserts for the table. I thought that was a nice gesture and they were delicious! I will definitely be returning...soon!

go for drinks, not food
drinks are very well priced (8 dollar cocktails, 6 dollar wine), but food is mediocre at best. nice ambiance if meeting for a drink though.
