    Cute, but expensive

I'm going to be perfectly honest; Alice's Tea Cup has probably the BEST scones I have ever eaten. My favorites are the pumpkin (oh SO good with a cup of coffee) and the chocolate and strawberry one is so delicious. I have also tried their various other baked goods which were fantastic as well. Have not tried their sandwiches, however, but from looks at the menu, it is very expensive for fingerfood. I have eaten inside once, and the decor was cute, not creepy like other reviews said, and the sewing tables to eat on were a nice, unique touch. The service was unremarkable, but the scones and tea made up for that. Go here for a special date with someone you love, its perfect atmosphere for that ^_^ (But if you'd like a meal, be prepared to fork over quite a bit of money!)

    Blah atmosphere

Don't expect a magical, "wonderland" ambience. this place is way overrated. there are a few painted murals on the walls, but mostly the impression of the dining area is one of a cave. there's a bit of shabby chic going on with the mismatched furniture and china, but mostly it is rather dull, dark, and unimaginative. on top of that, the the service is inconsistent and the music was not appropriate. i was disappointed and stressed out eating here. if you are looking for a tea experience with a young daughter, try american girl in midtown. as commercial as it may be, the staff is well-trained and polite, and the decor fanciful and relaxing. if you want good high tea, go to one of the better hotels around the city.

    A girl's dream!

Alice's Tea cup is absolutely fantastic! My friend (who now works there) took me to Alice's for the first time, with the recommendation that it was her favorite place in New York City. When I walked in and saw the shop with fairy wings, glitter, and everything a girl could dream of, I knew I would love it before I even sat down. It is charming and sweet, and the food was wonderful. The number of teas you can choose from is unbelievable, and everything is great so you can't go wrong! This is definitely a place I would recommend to any girly girl, and most certainly is a place to go on a "Mother-daughter" day!

    Amazing Scones

I love Alice's Tea Cup, it is a fun place to go with your girlfriends for tea and scones after a day of shopping. You can sit and relax and enjoy the girly atmosphere, great tea, and the amazing scones (pumpkin is the best) and desserts. But don't go there expecting great service. The waitresses are a bit slow (ours forgot to serve us our dessert because she was upstairs eating, yes she told us that). So don't go there if you're in a hurry or just want a quick bite to eat!

    Scones to DIE for

An upper west side necessity. forget the 250 kinds of wonderful tea, steeped flawlessly behind the scenes. forget the bone china, the wacky, friendly staff, the outrageous decor. it is all about the scones. the best in the world. period.

    So much fun!

It was so much fun! The decorations are adorable and one of the cutest things about it is the mismatched teasets. You'd think that it wouldn't look good, but it was really fun to see the different designs and types of sets. So much fun! Definitely worth going again.

    Great food/tea, slow service

I have been here many times. I think the food and tea are great. I particularly like the warm lentil salad, the scones, and the wide variety of tea. The red velvet cupcakes are delicious too! The atmosphere is nice and fun. The only negative is the service. They are very slow, almost every time and I've been there more than 5. I'm not expecting fast food at a tea place, but they can be excruciatingly slow. However, that does not stop me from going back because it's great otherwise.
