    I love Alice's!

Alice's Tea Cup is a fantastic place to have weekend brunch (although the lines are a bit of a bother) and the tea selection is amazing! Also, do NOT leave without having a slice of their famous banana nutella cake, you will dream about it.

Great Food, Great Service, Great Tea!

Had lunch here on a rainy afternoon with my aunt and cousin (under the age of 1). The baby was fussy but the wait staff was patient and accommodating. The Food was amazing, the tea was ever better! The value was great, the atmosphere was wonderful. Overall a great experience!

    Busy, but for good reason

Best scones in town! We came in on a weekend and expected a wait (brunch on the upper east side? please!) and were pleasantly surprised when they took our cellphone number to call us when we could be seated. The staff seem like real people, friendly but not fakely happy. Great neighborhood spot.

    Going Downhill Fast

Wow. In the few months in between my visits to this place, everything has gone downhill fast. Some friends and I took my cousin who was in town for the weekend to this place because the last few times I went there I had a great experience. This time, quite the opposite. We did not wait long for a table, but we came late in the afternoon. Our food took forever to come, which did not worry us as we were in no real rush, but when it was finally brought to the table by our waitress, everything, all four meals, were completely cold - my pancakes were like rocks. When we told the waitress she only offered to heat them up, not bring new dishes. Let's just say the reheated eggs and pancakes, not so good.

    Who runs this place?

The people that run this place on Sundays must be some of the dumbest people on planet earth. It is rocket science for them to figure out seating, taking names, and how to put food in boxes.

    Subpar Customer Service

My boyfriend and I live in the area and recently tried to eat at Alice's Tea Cup. We entered the restaurant and stood under the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign for almost ten minutes...and nobody even looked at us. Nobody came to greet us or to tell us how long the wait would be. Eventually we gave up on brunch and decided to get a cupcake, only to be completely ignored once again. There were four people behind the counter, and we were standing right in front of them, money in hand ready to buy. Literally nobody even looked up at us. We eventually just left, unnoticed and unsatisfied. Also, while we were waiting, we saw another couple storm out because of the terrible customer service (same thing happened to them).

    Good Brunch Place in UES

I was lucky enough to have my wife surpise me with a visit to this hidden brunch place on my birthday. That was back in June and today makes it the 4th time we've come to place for Brunch. The place is small but what do you expect? It's New York and this is a place that is all about the theme of Alice in Wonderland...this is the charm of this place. I don't usually call people out but we have to say that Ryan has made our experience enjoyable from day one. He's always quick to recommend great food, teas, and coffee and join the conversation with quick wit and friendly advice. Quite honestly the food (I always get the Ham/Cheese Scone Benedict) is outstanding and the service (sure, they could use help...all those tables and only one guy) is great. Everyone we have brought to this little "hidden gem" has been extremely happy. Lastly, it may not be the best place to grab a "quick bite" but it's the best place to go if you want an experience.
