Adorable Place, Great Service
Everyone is so friendly here! My children love it and the scones are to die for. There is a long wait so- If you don't want to wait, come at an off time. The baked goods are divine, especially the cakes. My out of town family insists on a trip each time they are in! Love love love it!

Cute for kids; Nice staff
We chose this restaurant because my cousins were coming to visit with their infant and 4 year old. For a theme restaurant, the food was surprisingly good. It also was decently priced. The decor is very cute, especially for tween girls. I don't think I'd go there without kids, but a very good choice when entertaining little girls. What I was most impressed by was the service. The hostesses were young (in their early 20s), but very on-the-ball and friendly. We needed a table for 8 and while they couldn't officially hold the table while we waited for the rest of our party to show up, they made sure to seat people in other areas, allowing us to have the seats we needed when everyone arrived. A few adults gave us dirty looks when the kids starting acting up, but it is children's spot, so be prepared for little ones.

Color...choice...flavor...
I went in with my friend and we were so impressed by the friendly faces, beautiful decor and colorful accessories which add to the character of this quaint little cafe. It's like the book itself...2nd chapter... Customer service is always good, waitresses have warm smiles and friendly characters. The soups and muffins are really good...fresh, full of taste and good portions. The jam and clotted cream is made with so much care and attention... The salads were light, crunchy and full of wonderful ingredients that fuse together. The carrot and cumin salad left me wanting more... As for the selection of tea...i was as stunned by the many flavors as i was with the decorative plates, saucers and cups. Even the teapots themselves are so colorful. Every time i go there, i get a different teapot...a different taste...and always a friendly smile. Whether you like soup, salads or something sweet, Alice's Tea Cup has d a warm inviting place for everyone to experience.

I've given up....
I have given up trying to have brunch at Alice's on a weekend. It's simply not possible, and I just don't have 2 hours to wait for brunch. What a waste of my time. I'll stop in to purchase their delicious scones, but I'll find another place to have brunch on Sunday.

very annoyed
Unfortunately, Alice's has a lot to learn about how to treat a customer. I'm a typical New Yorker and I don't like to wait, but I was willing to do so yesterday for 30 minutes. I was then told that they made a mistake and it would be another 45 minutes. Pretty rude, especially when there were empty tables. I won't be returning to Alice's - life is much too short for me to waste 2 hours waiting for food, when there are hundreds of other places with better service and better food.

Extrememly Poor Service!
I met a couple of freinds at Alice's at 2PM on Saturday. We promptly put our name on the list and were told there would be a 30 minute wait. 45 minutes later I went to check on our wait and was told that's it'd be at least another 45 minutes and possibly up to an hour and a half longer until we got a table. When I asked why, as there were available tables, I was told that the original staff member who took my name mis-quoted me the time. When I protested the over-sight I was told that nothing could be done about it as this particular staff member had not made the mistake. I might add that in the 10 minutes I stood arguing with the hostess at least 3 tables came open and yet they still would not seat us, even though my name was suposedly next on the wait list. Needless to say I will not be returning anytime soon. Life is too short to waste on restraunts that offer sub-par service and careless staff members.

waiting and waiting and waiting....
I wonder why Alice's feels that they are so far above any other restaurant in New York City to be able to treat their customers so shabbily. Firstly, why only take reservations for six on the weekends. You would think, first come, first serve. Make your reservations early. Perhaps it's because they are so disorganized? We arrived and were told there would be a 35 minute wait. Not a problem, we were willing to do so. Forty-five minutes later, we were told they made a mistake and it would be another 45 minute wait. And this with an empty table for four remaining empty for the entire 10 minute conversation. Sorry, I won't bother again. When I am out for a nice brunch with two or three friends, why would I want to go through such a hassle?
