Great Turkish Restaurant in Manhattan.
I think Alibaba is the greatest Turkish restaurant in the city. They have very big portions. Their prices are excellent it is a great restaurant to take your family or friends.

Good food, poor attitude
I suggested this place for an office lunch for about 20 people, one of the reasons for choosing it was the easy and convenient lunch menu which is a prix fix and allows everyone to get their own appetizer and entree easily, and makes it easier for everyone to split the bill at the end. However, when we showed up we were told that the lunch menu would not be available for our party since it was a large group and we could only order from the main menu. With a diverse group of people, some not knowing anything about Turkish food and some reluctant to spend upwards of $30 for an entree from the regular menu, this really complicated things. If that was the rule, they should have told us at the time of reservation that we could not order from the lunch menu so that we could have decided whether this suited our needs after all. Add to that the manager was very rude and spoke very rudely to us, which really spoiled the celebratory mood of the group. I personally felt very embarrassed by the way we were addressed and will not be recommending this restaurant in future.

Great Food / Good Service / Good Prices
I am a regular here. I order a few times a month and sometimes eat at the restaurant. The food is very good with healthy portions. The staff is accommodative. They remember me when I call in to order and the delivery is prompt. I think this some of the best Turkish cuisine in the city.

a very positive experience
My wife and I live in the area.We have tried a number of Greek and Turkish restaurants.Ali Baba rates up there with the best of them.We found the atmosphere very pleasant,the food fresh and well presented,the service attentive and the prices extremely fair.Contrary to some of the reviews on Menupages the service was fine.We plan to go back soon.

Can't please some people
Some of the reviews here are a little precious. I happen to like this place a lot. Friendly service, mostly, good presentation, etc. Try the Adana kebab. It's a huge helping and beautifully marinated. Okay, I might concede that there was one waiter one evening who was a bit uppity, but don't let him put you off! It's a fine spot all round.

Poor attitude, good food
We went there for lunch and the attitude of the staff was not very friendly. Despite that, the food was good and they kept filling our water glass. It was a little over priced but I am not familiar with the neighbourhood.I left happy but they could have made me left happier if they could improve their attitude.
