The waiters were friendly and very helpful and the servings were huge. It was unfortunate that a bunch of us got extremely full on the appetizers and had hardly any room left for the main course. But what we had, we really liked, including the small bites of the main course we managed to find room for.

All though the customer is allways right, there are some instances where the customer is not right. The below person ordered a meal from our establishment, and yes the order took about 40 minutes, which is usual on the weekeneds. But anyways, the food was sent but the person was not in there apartment, after several phone calls, no answer. So the delivery was brought back. After 15 minutes, the customer calls back, and ask where is my food, we tell him that the food, was sent but no body was in the apartment, and we have to sent the food again to the address. He decides to cancel the order, and than, calls back at 10 pm to ask where his order is. Being patient is a virtue, but when it comes to a customer who calls back when the kitchen is cold, and his food has been waiting for 2 hours, because he left his apartment, what can you do?

I've visited here before, and decided to order food. I ordered at 8PM, and based on the reviews of this site, waited until 9:30Pm to check on it. I was told it was on its way. I waited until 10:15PM to call again, and I was told that I had cancelled my order when I called before. When I suggested that they may be making a mistake, I was insulted on the phone, not by the attendant, but by the manager! Never again--it doesn't pay to be patient--or polite here.

This place is truelly a jewel of new york city.. They have just recently moved to 212 east 34 street, 4 doors down their old spot. The new place and their new menu is amazing. They have added alot of vegetarian dishes, several fish dishes at very resonalble prices. Take a visit to ali baba turkish cusines, it really is a hidden treasure in the murray hill neighborhood.

i've been coming here since the restuarant changed from pizza joint (good pides) to the full service restaurant. The food is excellent - I've had most of the dishes on the menu and the one dish I always return to is the lamb kabobs. IMO ALI BABA has the best lamb kabobs in the city! I just ate at MAIA last nite - good kabobs -great meze, but ALI BABA has them beat on Lamb Kabobs. Tried kabobs at PICNIC on 7th ave. in west Vill. - good but not ALI BABA quality. Portions are generous at Ali Baba (sometimes I split the kabob entree with my girlfriend). They are the only turkish (or greek) restaurant to use shredded Feta on their country salad, which by the way is AWESOME! even in the dead of winter the tomatoes are full of flavor. My Greek girlfriend swears its the best country (greek) salad she's eaten (she'd kill me for saying that). Lastly the eggplant meze is delicious - full of flavor, and the bread is the best jerry! check it out - you can eat a huge dinner for 2 for about $30.00. Lamb kabobs and a country salad makes a great meal! sometimes its you have to wait for a table - thats the downside, but the food is worth the wait!

I have to say that I have been a true customer of this place from almost day one. I remember when they first opened up and were serving Pizza, Kebabs and Pides. Since than they have grown into a full restaurant and getting rid of the pizza shop look and feel. The reason why I love this place is that the owners very kind and considered. It is a family run business, with family values and warmness. Baba, the older gentelmen, and Ali the oldest son in the family, and the youngest son, which i do not know his name, run the restaurant. But shortly, the food is amazing, whether it is the juicy kebabs, the sautes, the yogurtlu kebabs or the lahmacuns, pides, the appetezers, the soups, ohh my god, my mouth is watering. The price is also great, the price range is for a typical meal is around 20 dollars, thats for your appt, main course, and coffe and desert. The service is friendly and quick, boy are they quick. These people are so good and so busy that there is usually a line outside, and a delivery time of 1 hour during the rush hours. The food, the service this place gives, truely can not be found easy. I went there the other night and saw that they will be moving to a bigger and better location, 212 E. 34 st, several doors down. Anyway, i love this place!!!
