Ali Baba Turkish Cuisine

I agree with another diner ... great renovation. Food is still tops but serving sizes have gotten smaller. That changes the value by a small bit. But it's still wonderful food and quite reasonably priced.

As I feared, as a restaurant gets more popular they start to skimp. Nice new digs but plates are smaller now and I had about two spoonfuls of rice with my entree last Tuesday when I visited. Food is still good. And service is nice as always. Same prices but smaller portions...for new and nicer digs.

I am turkish and I love good prepared traditional turkish food. I searched a lot, so I have been to many turkish restaurants in the City until I have found Ali Baba Turkish Cuisine. It is the best place to enjoy turkish dishes. Try the Mezze, Manti (kind of Ravioli) or the different kinds of Kebabs (meat with salad) and the Baklava (Dessert). It's delicious. I was soooo full, but the food was so perfect that I had to finish everything. Really, try it.

Ali Baba is literally the best Turkish restaurant in New York City! Their Mediterranean food is homemade and fresh so it'll keep you savoring for more. It's a great choice when you're starving and you and your friends are looking for a cozy restaurant with delicious food. The service is wonderful regardless of what anyone might say. The service is exceptional both in the restaurant or delivery. If you're looking for exotic food in a comfortable environment, Ali Baba is the place for you.

I usually write somewhat long reviews here on menupages but this one I will keep short because there isn?t much I can add to the wonderful reviews already here for Ali Baba. I went there with my family and the whole meal was wonderful. We started with the mixed appetizer, Tarama, and the Akdeniz Salatasi. Everything was extremely fresh and full of flavor. The salad had possibly the best feta cheese I have ever had. It literally melted in my mouth. For a main dish I had the home made Manti, which was similarly delicious. Lots of good garlic flavor meshed nicely with the yogurt sauce. The evening special Osso Bucco was also great, as were all the other dishes that I tried. The only disappointment was the Karides Guvec (shrimp casserole), which was more liquidy than casserole like. If you?re in the neighborhood though, Ali Baba is definitely a good spot to get some excellent Turkish food at a reasonable price.

Was visiting New York in December on a project and Ali Baba was recommended. The first time we called for reservations we received a rude reply and did not go. But another night we tried. There was a large group of us and we were accommodated with hospitality and grace. The food was so sensational that we all wanted to go back. Now I am in California, still dreaming of those wonderful tastes!

This place is totally amazing, from the service to the food to the value, this place rocks.
