    Great Italian Food!

I had dinner here this past week and was very pleased. They had gnocchi as a special so I decieded to see if it was as good as my mom's homemade. They were very good, not pasty as they can be sometimes, very light. They did not give a big portion but very good and the sauce was good as well. I had Broccoli rabe for a side dish which was good as well and very large portion, 2 could have eaten from the serving. I will be back again as they seem to have things in order in this place!

Great service & a fun night!

I met a few friends there for dinner and I got there early- the wait staff were patient with me while I waited to order, waiting for my friends to get there. Service was amazing, food yummy, great wine, little pricey but I would go back!!

    Big disappointment

I took friends here from out of town for a late Italian style lunch, unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience. We should have known when at 2pm, in Rockefeller Plaza, there was only one other table having lunch. Big sign to walk out. We sat down, the waiter was rude, as if he was annoyed 3 ladies walked in to dine. The cauliflower soup was decent & plentiful, but the 3 pasta special (fettuccine alfredo - their signature dish, the veal raviolli and something else that was obviously forgettable) was cold, dry and tastless. It was more like a pasta tasting, literally a spoonful and a half of each and that is it for $28.00. Rip off! Then they charged us 20% tip for a party of 3, at 2pm in the afternoon. When we approached the manager about this, he couldn't have been ruder. How appalling and shameful for a Rock Plaza restaurant. I will NEVER go here again. This place needs to shape up or ship out.

    Good Lord...

35 minutes for drinks...no knives...or napkins. The fettucine alfredo was atrocioso...the waiter was lost. He actually went u to a table next to ours and asked them where they were in the meal... hmmm...weird weird experience. They also seemed to have run out of tap water...because we could not get a refill once. I really cant believe how awful it was...

    quintessential tourist trap

if the fettucine alfredo served here is supposedly the best, it makes me wonder how the dish ever became popular. but lets start with the $13.00 artichoke. a small offering of heart & stem, tough, and very plainly fried in oil that tasted as if it came from ancient rome. highly overpriced and very disappointing. fettucine was bland and slimy (the best description) the lasagne lacking substance and the veal ravioli extremely salty. other dishes tried include the veal chop valdostana which in every other restaurant is a double cut chopped stuffed with prosciutto and fontina, and sauteed. usually so large it cannot be finished in one sitting. here, you will get a single chop topped with ham (which in italian in prosciutto, but dont be swayed-it is not prosciutto as you know it-it is more like boiled deli meat) and cheese that is hard and plastic-like by the time it gets to your table. (not one dish arrived hot!) not a good choice for $36.00. i can go on, but i think you have the idea. the food is very pricey and not worth the expense.

this time i believe the writers-superb!!

I've spent much time in Italy and this restaurant is as close to being there as you can get. Much of the menu was deliciously Italian and there were just enough playful items on the menu tokeep it fresh. The Itlian managers and especially the two bar tenders from the south of Italy made the the atmoshere special. Will be back many times!

    Rip off

Horrible experience and ridiculously over priced. I took my family here as I heard this place had the best fettucine alfredo. Not quite. It was simply cheese and noodles, too thick. They don't seem to use cream in their sauce. First impression was also discouraging. We showed up and received attitude from the staff after they lost our reservation. Also, our appetizers and meals had arrived before our waiter even opened our bottle of wine. We eventually asked the waiter of the table next to us to open if for us. He was the only good thing about this experience. Don't go! It's a waste of time and money.
