    Rome, New York

A couple of years ago, I found out that the fastest way to get from New York to Italy is to walk through the door of Alfredo restaurant in Rockefeller Center, a satellite of the famous Alfredo of Rome. Spending many nights at the New York outpost, I learned that the signature dish, Fettuccine Alfredo, is made using the same recipe originally created in Rome by chef/owner Alfredo di Lelio in 1914. In fact, everything on the menu tastes authentically Italian. A friendly and attentive staff completes the experience. I would recommend Alfredo to anyone who loves Italy. And who doesn’t?

    Not recommended

Atrocious place..... supposed to specialize in pasta.... yet pasta comes out like wax.... is kitchen too far away from customer table? Service worst even.... waiters couldn't give a crap..... what you say.... They'll just throw the food on the table.....an embarrassment to the great tradition of Italian cuisine

    Unprofessional waitstaff, ok food...

Went there last night with 2 friends. Our waiter approached our table by saying, "what's up", like he would to one of his buddies. This is supposed to be fine dining, that laxed behavior wouldn't even be appropriate at a chain restaurant. He mysteriously walked away while one of us was giving him her dinner order. As in, he said nothing and walked away, then reappeared several minutes later with no acknowledgement to his disappearing act. Then he gave us trouble when two of us wanted to both share a pasta and an appetizer as our meal. Annoyed, he went to checked with the manager if it was okay. He seemed concerned with his tip throughout the process, but we couldn't even get a water refill from him. Their signature dish, fettucini alfredo was average. The atmosphere is pretty, but could use a makeover as it looks a bit dated. I wish I had nice things to say about this place. To end on a positive note, they serve a pretty good lobster fettucini and the free biscotti at the end was nice damage control. The moral of this story (Alfredo's), is that the waitstaff is as crucial as the food you're serving. Both can leave customers with a bad taste in their mouths.

    What a rip-off

Went for lunch with my wife. We ordered a pasta dish each, no appetizers, no drinks, and the bill came to $50 before tip. There wasn't even that much food, and what did come was pretty average. Plus service was pretty slow. Nice space though.

    Worst service in NYC

My wife and I met my boss and his wife in NYC for the weekend.....stayed at the Marriott Hotel nearby. Hotel's clerk told us about this restaurant, but he did not know much about it..........what a disaster! On Friday, Dec. 10th we had reservations for 7:15 p.m......we sat down at 7:40 p.m........and we got served at 9:05 p.m. We asked for the manager and our waiter told us that the manager had told him to tell us that he was too busy and will not be able to talk to us about the delay, wrong food being served and lack of service. I have dined at hundreds of NYC restaurants, but never this disappointing. Attitude is terrible and food is definitely not Italian. Our company that just brought 275 new jobs to the area, will definitely make sure that our staff and hundreds of clients visiting our main office only two blocks away do not recommend this restaurant!

    ugh

A very overrated restaurant that didn't even come close to being worth the prices they charge. Their signature dish is the Fettucine Alfredo but that item is much more tasty at the 7-11 of Italian restaurants( The Olive Garden). The best thing about Alfredo of Rome is the wait staff which was very food, but my wife and I were there for the food, which was edible at best. Fortunately the Broadway play we saw beforehand was very good.

    Great Italian Food!

I had dinner here this past week and was very pleased. They had gnocchi as a special so I decieded to see if it was as good as my mom's homemade. They were very good, not pasty as they can be sometimes, very light. They did not give a big portion but very good and the sauce was good as well. I had Broccoli rabe for a side dish which was good as well and very large portion, 2 could have eaten from the serving. I will be back again as they seem to have things in order in this place!
