The best "Little Big" spot in NYC
This is a true treasure. I cannot believe this place exists. This is Gramercy Park or Chelsea meet the the neighborhood. This is a cozy, romantic, and friendly place in the heart of NYC, with a friendly atmosphere. I noticed theregulars being greeting at the door with a kiss or handshake. How New York is that??? The service is genuine, and the food is terrific. The wine list is awesome, and did I mention reasonable. My partner and I were able to have a full and terrific meal with a great bottle of wine for $75.00, and we were provided a complimentary after dinner cordial. Reserve in the garden if you can......

Can't Wait to Go back
I went to Aleo this past week and I couldn't get over how fantastic this place was - the food was spectactular - just got back from Italy 2 weeks ago and the food rivals some of the best that I ate there. I can't wait to go back - the food and wine lists are second to none.

a disappointment
We went to Aleo with (we thought) appropriately high expectation, and were disappointed. The food was pretty good, but the noise and chaos and wobbly service made it difficult to concentrate on the food. I doubt we'd risk going back.

Confortable when not busy
I've been to Aleo Restaurant a couple of times and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere overall when it's not too busy. Although I was treated fairly well, the time it took for me to actually have dinner took too long. That's the only problem I found with the restaurant.

My new favorite
What a relief to find excellent food in a lovely environment in the Flatiron District. Aleo Restaurant, my new favorite, has managed to rival neighborhood favorites such as Gramercy Tavern and Tabla by providing delicious food at appropriate prices in an atmosphere that truly feels like home. Whereas many of the Flatiron District's upscale restaurants tend to treat customers with icey politeness while providing hyped menu selections not worthy of their salt , Aleo's sincere greeting and creative food choices provide a marked contrast. Aleo's warm environment encourages you to savor, linger, and simply enjoy. Their menu is original. The combination of traditional Mediterranean fare with Middle Eastern nuances in dishes such as the lamb chops, the lifeguard stew and field green salad are wonderful. This restaurant is a winner all around. I advise you to try it and see for yourself.
