Had a bday dinner with friends and the food was amazing and unforgettable. Baby lamb chops, I can still taste them. Dont pass up this place, absolutely delicious. The ambience was nice and the service was fab. The owner was very helpful in choosing our wines as well.

Dinner last night was mediocre at best. What a disappointment. Average and bland is the best I can say. With all of the great restaurants in NYC you don't need to eat here. And their garden area has the poor ambience.

I've become a regular at this little unknown restaurant (probably not for too long, when people discover what they're getting). The Chermoula Marinated Breast of Chicken is to die for!! I've tried most of the dishes but this won takes the cake. I highly recommend it.

My girlfriend and I read the reviews of every restaurant where we eat. I have to say there are varying reviews about many places, ALEO is no exception. We decided to try ALEO and immediately asked to see the manager. He came right to the table. We asked him for all his recommendations, wine, appetizers, entrees, dessert etc.. We had a fabulous time and the cost was seriously moderate considering the neighborhood. The service was great. I do not know if asking for the manager immediately helped or not but we have started to do this every where we eat. The manager did not upsell us on anything and provided some insight into some good wine. We have decided to have our rehearsal dinner in the beautiful garden.

Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend Aleo -- food wasbland, and the menu didnt have a wide selection. Bartender was great and made a wonderful mixed drink, but the waitstaff could use some instruction/direction. Nice atmosphere in the garden area, but not worth a return visit.

We had a great first impression of the resturant that only went downhill as the evening progressed. The ambiance is beautiful, dim, calming- almost romantic. The service is poor. While the food was overall decent, the poor service is the reason I would never go back. Then to top off the evening, they couldn't find our umbrella at the end of night. For the price of the food, the service should be much better.

My wife and I were very hopeful and looking forward to a nice Italian dinner. However, it was far from good food. We had the Pappardelle and Gnocchi and they were both bland. The ragu with meat sauce was exactly that - A bottle of ragu sauce from your local market. We really wanted to like this place, but the chef was either having a bad day or just does not know how to cook Italian food. Very disappointing and not worth the money.
