Unpleasant
I went to Aleo for a friend's wedding. The wedding was lovely, but Aleo was absolutely unpleasant. The food was given out in tiny, laughable portions and was not very good. The salmon was essentially raw, the pasta was mushy and oily. The service was incredibly rude throughout the day. Do not hold your event here!

Disappointing
I looked at the other reviews and felt the good outweighed the bad. I know feel the bad reviews were being too diplomatic. The decor was like a coffee shop, the food was awful, starting with the salad - it was salty?!, returned it but the simply put additional salad on top of the returned salad. The entree's where ice cold and took well over 30 minutes to get. The drinks where the best part of this meal.

a misfortunate dining experience
My boyfriend and I decided to eat here based on reading the menu and the looks of the place from the outside. We are not picky eaters and usually like all places that we go, however, we were extremely disappointed with Aleo. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice Italian meal in NYC. The food was highly overpriced for the quality and the service was poor.

good food good atmosphere
We have eaten at aleo many times and really like the quality food that is fairly priced. What we like the most is the lack of NYC attitude and the chef's willingness to adjust to our peculiar likes. If anyone is in the neighborhood i recommend a trip to Aleo.

extremely disappointed
My food was cold, the eggplant parmesan was not even cooked all of the way and the pasta sauce that my dish came in was bland and had chopped up pieces of ham in it which was a surprise to me since I do not eat ham and would not have ordered it had I known that were the case. I would have been much better off ordering from my local pizzeria and I would have saved myself $40 bucks.

Superb Italian dining with friendly wait
Aleo's was perhaps one of the best dining out experiences I ever had. The decor was very appealing and excellent for a first date or any date for that matter. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken scarpiello which was probably one of the best dishes I ever had. The waiter was very friendly and accomadating. I really felt that the restaurant staff took a genuine interest in ensuring a good time and great food was had by all customers. I have been to at least 35 Italian restaurant's in NYC and never had the first class service and excellent food combonation that I enjoyed at Aleo's.
