    Delivery not recommended

Their delivery is not so good, it took them more than an hour and 1/2 to deliver my sandwich to me. I was 5 blocks away from them! I have never waited this long for a turkey sandwich anywhere in New York City.

    Not up to par

I don't agree w/ everyone who says this place is clean -- it may be, but I have never gotten that feeling. The register workers can be rude no matter who they employ, and the checkout system is dysfunctional -- have to wait on two different long, long lines to get out of there. And while the salads may be a fairly priced option, they are overpriced on the the other stuff -- example: dannon yogurt this morning, $1.69, when it's 89 cents a block away. Finally, they get just about all of their business from Fordham, but they are not accomodating to students. They won't charge you tax on salad or deli items w/ a student id, but you better have it taped to your forehead well in advance of checkout. If they've already punched in the price, tough luck, and if you don't have yours even though you go there every single day of your life they will not make an exception. Mom and pop shop atmosphere this is not.

Cheap food, but with an attitude

Go here a lot for lunch. The salad is a good deal- 5 dollars for 5 ingredients and they are usually pretty fresh. The people that work in the salad and sandwich lines are also very nice. However, the checkout people are unbelievable. They are rude, even if they recognize you as someone who is there a lot. If that doesn't bother you than go for it.

    Not recommended

I ordered delivery from this place the food was not up to par. The cheese tasted old. Even though the food is cheap, it didn't taste good.

Kill the attitude at the checkout!

There's a definite love/hate relationship here. The food is excellent compared to a typical 'deli'. Not too expensive, fresh ingredients, and the atmosphere of the place is clean, warm and welcoming--although it can get very crowded during the breakfast and lunch rush. One saving grace is that they do deliver--and I would advise you to take that option. Although the guys that actually make the food are very friendly and always make you feel welcome, for some reason they hired a girl with a bad attitude that usually works the register. So don't ask any questions, forget your ID when buying beer or smokes, ask her to get coffee for you--you might get a tongue lashing that will ruin your mood for the day, as I often have. That being said, they don't usually price gouge you like the place around the corner that closed down (rich and famous).

    Neighborhood Treasure!

This is a very clean, local market with wonderful tossed salads, sandwiches and a good variety of groceries - a vast improvement over the prior tenant. The staff is very friendly and remembers frequent visitors with a smile. And a bonus-- they deliver!
