    Best Pizza on the UES

This is really the best pizza on the upper east side, and we have tried them all. Skip patsy's, the crust and sauce here are far better!

    Best pizza in the city

Normally I don't even like pizza but at al forno's it's absolutely delicious! Light, fresh and tasty. The salads and pastas are fabulous as well. You won't be disappointed.

My favorite deal of a meal...

I must say that this is one of my favorite, no attitude, comfortable places to go & the food is incomparable. My wife is from Italy & agrees with me that this is one of New York's under-rated stars! Great for delivery & the pastas are even better than the pizzas... if that's possible... great atmosphere too & very kid friendly if you go earlier in the evening. I have friends from other neighborhoods who ask to go here every time they come to this neighborhood for a visit... An Upper East must!

Very Good Pizza - Try It!

The previous reviewer is unfair to compare Al Forno to other neighborhood pizza places... OF COURSE pizza made with fresh mozzarella and fresh basil leaves is going to be more expensive than normal pizza. Al Forno makes an excellent thin crust pizza - if this is the kind of pizza you like, then you will love their pizza. Yes, it is like Patsy's. This is a great neighborhood place, they also have nice salads and the lobster ravioli is very tasty too.

    Best salad

The insalata siciliana is the BEST ever! I usually get it with grilled chicken. yum!

    Overpriced, underportioned, overrated

Was looking for some new pizza tonight.. ordered from here after reading the reviews. #1 a pie is about $2 more then anywhere else. #2 the pie isn't good, very salty and attempting to be more "traditional" (splotching cheeze and sauce.. mixing cheeses) #3 The cheesecake I ordered was $4 and sarah lee tastes better. Nice presentation on the cake but overall the food was average or worse, and the prices were above average and unjustified. Delivery was average... For the atmosphere I can't say, cuz I didn't go, and i won't be going at this point. If the food doesn't cut it, I couldn't care less about atmosphere.

The best pizza in the world

...seriously, I've never eaten such a great pizza before. Pasta is excellent... My favourite: penne alla vodka. Try...
