From a pizza snob, it's my favorite pizza choice in the neighborhood (fresh mozz used, good sauce, good char, fresh basil, etc.). Caveat: No. 28 on 1st is awesome, but super expensive, so overall Al Forno is my go-to when ordering. In terms of sit-down full-menu experience, interior is nice, fine. Wouldn't take a first date here, but I go with my family often. The portions for the shareable plates are huge. Other food is generally good, and affordable.

The sad thing here is if I returned my Chicken Parm delivery, the manager would say "So, what's the matter?" Bottom line: By now I can tell just by opening the container, whether I made a mistake ordering from a place. The Chicken Parm was equal to what you might get at a corner coffee shop like Viand (no offense, but it is what it is). I'd imagine what I received was what they'd slop onto kids plates in a local elementary school's cafeteria. Absolutely nothing remarkable about this Chicken Parm..no delicious dark brown melted cheese..no zesty sauce, no tasty Rigatoni..just a generic, could be Mexican food type of offering. I know what they're thinking.."Will include a lot of extras (Bread, Pasta & Veggies) and they should consider themselves lucky it's only $18.. Personally, you can keep the extras as I'd rather have a tasty main course..any time! For $18 you'd expect more.. So, that was the one try I'll give to this place..if you can't distinguish yourself with this simple dish, I don't even want to try your other offerings.

I have been ordering take out from here for at least a year. Sometimes I order the salmon entree with a small side of tomato sauce to dip it in. Today when I called the person answering the phone, very politley, told me that their manager said you cannot sell a side of sauce to anyone unless they it comes with the meal or they must order a side of pasta with the sauce. So let me get this straight, I just paid $19.00 for an entree and was willing to pay the 3.00 for a side of sauce but was told selling a side of sauce is not allowed. Well now you just lost a customer over a side of sauce, tottally disappointing!

Went there last night with a group of friends (four of us) to get a good slice of NY pizza. When we got there we ordered the Spaghetti Pomodoro (for three), Cezar Salad (for three), and a Large 16 inch pizza with Eggplant, Onions, and Kalamata Olives. All the food turned out to be good. My friends really enjoyed the Salad, Pasta was good and the Pizza was delicious! The only problem I would have to say was the service! Our waiter was very sluggish, and not pleasant to order from. When we finally go the bill we asked to split the check and the waiter said "I mean yea you can do that it's just more work..." Anyways, I can see my self coming back for the Pizza, but at the same time I think I could find other places with the complete package.

This is the only place in recent years that has satisfied my cravings for that classic NYC slice. No frills. Just plain good. And the meatballs are a delicious treat as well! Thanks guys!
