stools in bar!!
Love the wine, love the wine knowledge, even love the food but the stools in the bar are so uncomfortable - I won't go back simply for that reason - my back is aching. The stools are obviously meant for people to sip and run - not lingering!

Pancetta
I was disappointed with the restaurant. I had the leek/parsnip soup and it was nothing special. For my main dish I had the young chicken with fennel salad and mashed potatoes, the potatoes arrived in a separate bowl, that didn't make sense to me, it was part of the dish. My husband ordered the liver with onions and polenta,he requested a side of pancetta and the waiter actually said they' don't do that here'! Not sure why he wouldn't serve it..... it would have brought the liver up a notch.

Good but not as great as it could be
I live across the road from Al Di La so I go (or used to go) quite often. These past few times have greatly disappointed me. The saltimbocca dish was so salty I could barely eat it. I love salty food but it was insanely over seasoned. I should have sent it back. The potatoes that came with the dish were whatever too. The same thing happened when I got the Spaghetti Vongole, insanely salty and watery. I'll give it one more chance and if it disappoints then I might have to find a new local spot.

very mediocre
i wish i had something really nice to say about al di la since i've heard nothing but raves from friends in the area. a recent trip here for lunch yielded results that left us yearning for something, anything, else. service was fair, though we had to request new utensils after they were taken away with the starters and our mains were plated. the food was pedestrian (gummy spaghetti carbonara especially disappointed) and expensive for the quality of ingredients used. the minestrone was more bread than anything, and very thin, lacking in flavor. i have heard though that dinner is amazing. i may reconsider and try this restaurant again but chances are i won't.

Delicious
My boyfriend and I took his parents out for their 30th wedding anniversary last night to Al Di La. We found the perfect table right in the corner and we had the most knowledgeable, nicest, attentive waitress ever..Corrie. She recommended the 2 bottles of wine we ordered as well as some of the food and she was right on the money! As soon as we met her we knew this place was going to be great. We ordered the shrimp special and mussels as appetizers (the shrimp were to die for..yummmmyyyy) and then the rabbit, duck leg and the Hanger steak. Every bite that each of us took was "OMG", "This is delicious", "yum"..lol We were in Heaven eating every bite. I will definitely be back here very soon as I still cant stop talking about it. Excellent!!

Not bad
I had the shrimp salad for lunch. The shrimp was too salty and the salad dressing was too sour. Also the busboy was a bit rude. Overall still a pretty good place, though probably overrated.

Nice exquisite option in Park Slope
Great for nicer occasions without having to go into the city. A romantic and authentic place with really great food.
