don't get it
I am sure I am not the only one, but I have eaten here several times. It's just very nice food, that's it! You are sqeezzzed in truly like a sardine, the portions are more polenta than anything else, and quite frankly the owner with the wild hair is simply pompous and unfriendlty. Sorry all you al di la groupies , but the truth is the truth!

surpassed our expectations
Al Di La... wow! Went for Valentine's dinner, and although we had to put our name on a list and wait about an hour and a half for our table, it was sooooo worth it. We were able to grab a glass of wine at the wine bar just behind the main restaurant... great selections. The food was simply amazing, and the staff was fantastic. Al Di La, in my opinion, is totally worth the hype... definitely my favorite Park Slope restaurant.

Always Al Di La!
Seriously, every time my boyfriend and I want to go out to eat, we can't think of any place better to go. It's always super!

Best Food We Ever Had
Amazing service. Inventive flavors. Delicious meat sauce. Will definitely return.

great gift!
My best friend and I always take each other out for our birthdays (Dec/Jan) we usually do Manhattan (Babbo, Nobu, Craft etc.) This year I decided to do something different (and since the economy was not so hot) I decided to try Al di La in brooklyn. It was FANTASTIC! she was soo happy it made her birthday. We had the carpaccio (yum) and the polenta (warm and rich)for appetizer, we both had pasta which was so fresh and cooked to perfection, it just had the perfect texture. We also shared the flank steak (even though we were stuffed) and ate every single bite it was soo good. Alas we had no room for desert..but we are definitely going back (our bill came to $100 with tax and tip and one glass of wine) Awesome. Highly recommended

Best Birthday Present Ever
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was seriously the best thing ever. My expectations were low, I guess, since I thought the food would be too fancy schmancy for me. However, since everything's local, it was worth a shot. We got the heirloom tomato appetizer that included an array of different types and was so simply delicious. My boyfriend convinced me to try the carpaccio, even though I'm squeamish with anchovies, and again the flavors melted together so unexpectedly, I was blown away. My vinegar hanger steak was also surprisingly good since I would never think to combine the two ingredients. I guess that's just a testament to the chef's brilliance. The wine bar around the corner is a great place to chill if the wait is long (the birthday gods must have been out that Saturday night since our wait was only 15 min).

Best Restaurant in the Slope!
This is by far my favorite restaurant in all of Brooklyn. Whether I've gone with a group of friends, on a date or by myself, I have always had a fabulous time. The food is some of the best Northern Italian I have tasted, the atmosphere is relaxing, rustic and inviting. The staff is also welcoming and knowledgeable. Also, they have an outstanding wine list and a wine bar just around the corner for guests to enjoy while waiting for a table. I will continue to be a regular here as long as I live in the area.
