Not a day goes by.........
I went there for my 5th year anniversary. Although we didn't get to try out their buffet since we got there late. we ordered to take home. and oh my gosh. I fell in love with the "mountain rolls" its sooo flavor-able and juicy. Not a day goes by without me thinking about having another bite. I stare at their menu that i took home..hehe but i so would recommend this place to all the sushi lovers!

Delicious!
Best local, low key sushi in the area! I look forward to Akina once a week!

Very Subpar Food- Don't bother.
I would not reccommend Akina for sushi or 'hot' food. I had a bento box and the food was nearly inedible. A waste to go here when there are so many excellent sushi restaurants in the city.

No-Call Zone
This restaurant does not accept private calls...how ridiculous is that? Maybe you would rather use another number than the listed one, or you're a celebrity, or you've had stalker problems and prefer to give your cellphone. Whatever. Too bad, because now I'll never know what the food is like.

do not order delivery
I ordered in lunch from Akina. I am not usually one for writing reviews, but I felt compelled to, after the disappointing lunch I had. I ordered a chilean sea bass appetizer that was so dry (something that rarely happens considering the oiliness of the fish with some sort of weird barbecue sauce on top) and vegetable tempura, which was soggy and consisted of 2 different types of vegetables....To wait one hour for delivery, pay 20 dollars, and receive this cat food is unacceptable.

Great Specialty Rolls
My girlfriend and I went there the other day for our six month anniversary. We were looking for something low key and not to NYC. The place is small but still allows you to have a conversation and it doesn't get to loud inside. Byob is always a plus and they charge a modest $5 cork fee. They offered tons of specialty rolls and they were all very tasty. The fish was extremely fresh and their spicy rolls were perfect. All in all I would definitely recommend this place. The atmosphere is great, food is delicious and the service was top notch. I would recommend this place to younger people as its a great place to go before hitting the clubs!
