The price fix dinner special is worth it. Three courses (including one drink with dinner and one with dessert) for $19.95. The babaghanoush was smoky and creamy and tasted even better on the Turkish bread that was brought to the table. My entree, Skewered Meat, was tender, juicy, a bit spicy and oh so good. What a gem and I recommend it highly to everyone.

This is one of the best Turkish restaurants I have ever been to. Fast service, hospitable and helpful staff combined with delicious food. You can't beat that!

Akdeniz is one of those places you can't believe is there, right around the corner, a Turkish delight in the heart of little Brazil. The food is always outstanding. I am not usually a lamb lover, but I have never had it prepared better than here. It is tender and fragant and perfect. Salmon kebabs are delicious but will leave you with dragon like garlic breath, so enjoy, but be prepared. I have a special affinity for the baby okra served in a delicate tomato broth and with fluffy rice. The bread is incredible. I have a slight wheat allergy and try to avoid bread. The bread here makes it difficult to impossible. Have it with hummus, tarama, spinach tartator, eggplant salad, or my favorite, the spicy mashed vegetables. I also rave about the stuffed vine leaves here, they are quite simply perfect. Rich Turkish coffee is the perfect finish with a flaky pistachio adorned baklava. The prices are dead reasonable and the staff are friendly and helpful and generally efficient. If you can't get there, do take out, Adkeniz rocks and is not to be missed.

Cold outside & Warm/cozy inside. Our meal was very good. We had soup - appetizer & salads. The merlo & cabernet were average but the food made up for it.

If you think you need to go to a Vegetarian restaurant to get great veg. food- you haven't tried this cozy little restaurant. A must eat in Midtown. Avoid the lunch crowd for a more relaxed atmosphere.

I have been in many Turkish and meditarrenean restaurants. Maybe this one is not the one with the biggest space but the food is so good. Octopus salad, liver and the shrimp shish is my favorites. This is a hidden gem in midtown and waiting to be discovered. The service is always good and the waitstaff becomes like one from your family after a while.
