Delicious, fresh cold appetizers in generous portions!
A rarity in midtown: fresh, healthful, good-tasting food at normal prices.

a sultan's delight
Being lovers of Turkish food we had high hopes for this restaurant and were not disappointed. The food was excellent (had karasik izgara - mixed grill), the portions huge, and prices reasonable. The restaurant itself was very narrow but nicely decorated. The only complaint was that although the service was excellent, the waiter was very stiff and untalkative and apparantly not accustomed to the more easy going American diners. But we came for the food and give it an A rating.

good pick
Good place to eat. Be aware that they serve in large portions. The price fix menu is the way to go. I knew they served so much food I would of order from the price fix (includes appetizer and desserts) and let my wife order an from regular menu. We could of share the appetizer and desserts. We walked out stuffed.

good value
I went with my friend a few weeks ago. we ordered for lunch 3 appetizers which we shared. Food was very good. Excellent stuffed eggplant, hummus and zucchini pancakes. Turkish pudding was excellent. Service was good. Would go back again.

Good but noisy
Went in the middle of the day with about 12 other women. Once the place got busy it was incredibly noisy. The food is very good, especially the grilled fish, and very generous portions. However, at lunch it appears one has to order 1 entree + 1 appetizer. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding?

Try Almond Pudding, it's the BEST!
Great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner, always fresh food & quick service. It's a small but cozy place. We alway enjoy eating at Akdeniz.
