Went there with my family. We don't normally eat anything except typical American. Even my picky son was trying different things and liking it. The waiter was very quick and attentive. They wiped down the table several times and refreshed the silverware and water. Although attentive, they did not rush us to hurry. The prix fix menu was a great deal, and we all shared the salad. definitely recommend it.

Akdeniz is such an amazing hidden treasure in nyc. The food is excellent, and the service is great. It's one of the best bangs for your bucks in NYC. If you are in the theater district, its a must. And even if you aren't in the area, it's worth the ride for some great Turkish delicacies.

Everyone stay out! I don't want it to get crowded so I can't get in. My first time there and won't be the last. The cheese pastries and zucchini pancakes are worth the drive from jersey.

I went with my sister before a broadway show for dinner on a weekday night during the holidays, and the service at this restaurant was EXCEPTIONAL. The staff was very quick on their feet and very courteous. I'm normally a hard person to please, but the food, atmosphere, and especially the service of this restaurant exceeeded my expectations!

I went here for dinner Saturday night and had a lovely time. My date and I both had the $17.95 prix fix dinner which was an excellent bargain. For appetizers, I chose the eggplant with sauce and he had the spinach and yogart dip. Both were extremely enjoyable (came with bread). For dinner he had the salmon and I had the vegetable casserole. My date's salmon was wonderful. I don't even like salmon and I had a bite and it was delicious! My casserole was good as well. I couldn't eat all of it because I was very full...and I had to save room for dessert! I had baklava and my date had the almond pudding. They were wonderful...both separate and with the pudding on top of the baklava! I was (slightly) disappointed that the tea/coffee that came with the prix fix wasn't Turkish, but oh well, it was such a bargain! I also had a glass of the Cankaya white wine. It was wonderful! (And I'm not much for white wine). It certainly warmed me up after a cold day in the city. The waiters were very attentive and the atmosphere was casual (we wore jeans and sweaters and were fine). I would recommend reservations, as the place is very small.

My parents decided to take me out for my birthday to NYC and my mother was quite skeptical of this restaurant (as the website wasn't as flashy as others)...but the food looked great so we decided to give it a shot. Let me just tall ya, we were blown away. The service was phenominal with an unblemished attention to detail (our places were even cleaned between courses!). But the real winner in my stomach's mind was the homemade stuffed grape leaves. A smooth and creamy texture with no bitter after-taste (far surpassing the ones you get out of the can or at your neighbourhood diner). Everyone we came with had something to enjoy. I was the only vegetarian out of the group of 5 we went with but the selection was good for all! The baby okra dish they had was fantastic and the neverending bread supply was quite welcomed! I have only one qualm of which one would not care much for unless a lactose-intolerant being as myself. (I to have to ask the ingredients of every food item...which makes me feel that I am being an annoyance, especially on a busy Saturday evening) Yet, the cozy setting was well-organised with enough room for elbows and coats. I recommend Akdeniz to anyone looking for a reasonably priced meal presented by a five-star wait/cook staff. **Extra Note: We made a reservation for 5:30pm on a Staurday, but there was at least one 2-person table available for walk-ins through 7:00pm.

My husband and I stopped in for an early dinner after seeing a show. We were very pleasantly surprised. We had the fixed price dinner, which was a great deal. Our appetizers, fried eggplant and Mediterranean salad, were delicious as were our salmon entrees. The desserts were fabulous, too. Service was very attentive and pleasant. The Turkish red wine was also very tasty. This place is a winner.
