My family was in town and wanted Mediterranean food near my apartment by Grand Central. I still had yet to find an old standby for the particular cuisine so I took it upon myself to search Menupages. Akdeniz was AMAZING... great choices, huge menu that was great for a vegetarian like me. I have already dined in and ordered delivery from them twice this week!!! :) I'm very happy!

Every time I go to Akdeniz, I am very satisfied with the food. They always use fresh ingredients. The dishes are prepared very well and the staff is friendly. Ambiance is plain and cozy. I feel right at home.

I got dinner with my parents here, and all of us have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. The food was excellent, and they have a very nice prix fixe dinner deal (appetizer, entree, and dessert). They have wonderful choices for vegetarians and meat eaters. The service was very fast, and the waiters were very nice and friendly. The decor is simple, but the place is very cozy. There aren't too many tables, so reservations are recommended. The only down side is that they don't take reservations for lunch. The place is pretty small, and if you have a big group of people, you're not likely to get a table if you just walk in. Overall, all of my family thinks that it's a treasure! Some of the things that we really liked are the Red Lentil soup, Baba Ganouj, and also the desserts Kadaiyf and Custard. Their falafels are also quite good.

We had a fantastic time at this restaurant. The food was excllent, especially, zucchini pan cake was one of the best dishes I had tasted in NYC! The food waiting time is O.K., not so fast, nor so slow. The service was great, too. However, maybe, it would be better if the waiting persons smiled a little bit more :) I was wondering if there were any female waiting persons... Female waiting persons might be able to give this nice restaurant more warmth that would remind many of us of mothers, especially the food mothers make at home. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, but the tables by the door were kind of cold especially when customers come and go through the door. It would be nice if some thing was done to keep those tables warmer (not too warm!). Last, it appears that the bathroom needs to be much cleaner. Especially, female customers usually spend more time in the restroom than male customers. We would like to feel a little bit more comfortable. The deodorant or flowers would be great. Overall, this restaurant is totally worth! I highly recommend it!

I came in for the day from Allentown PA to see a show and dinner. I investigated this restaurant on the net and saw all the raves and reviews. They are all true! The waiters are so helpful and patient. The food is WONDERFUL and the atmosphere very classy and European. I loved it. I will go back. The owner is a gem. Thank you so much for such a lovely dinner. Even though it was pouring outside, inside was cozy and the wine fabulous!

I was looking for a place to meet a friend for dinner between our two offices and found Akdeniz. What a wonderful surprise! In the middle of an area that has a lot of high priced restaurants, this is a find. Great food, friendly atmosphere and my test of a good ethnic restaurant--a number of Turkish people eating there. It's small and simple with well prepared food and a great prix fixed menu. Atmosphere is not fussy but its comfortable and inviting. I'll definitely go back.
