I love this sushi, (and i eat alot of sushi from alot of different places) but I am dissapointed by the recent inconsistancy of fish quality. I dont know if they changed the fish distributor they use or have a new sushi chef, but the last 4-5 times I have ordered I have received 2-3 dissapointing experiences. I will continue to order from here because it has such a great diversity of rolls/creative and the sushi/cost ratio is above average as well. All said and done, I still would recommend this place.

OK, so the sushi is standard fare, but it's always fresh, tasty and well-prepared. What makes this place a knock-out is the service. Very charming experience.

I tried Akane on a saturday night and liked it. The sushi is pretty good for the price, and they have a good variety of food. Good and simple ambiance. It's not really big, they can sit about 30-40 person maximum. It's about 30$ if you are really hungry!

5 stars for the food? I don't see the hype about this place. I tried few dishes including Sushi, it was fair at best. Some of the dishes I ordered didn't even taste the way it supposed to be. It is definitely cheaper than others, but you get what you paid for.

I really like this sushi place. The food is excellent, the decor is pleasant, the staff is exceptionally nice, and, in a typical welcoming touch, there is a big bowl of free chocolate by the front door. A much more pleasant dining experience than the more expensive, not as good, and less friendly places on Third Avenue.

What a great find! Quiet, especially at high noon. Fills up quickly starting around 12:15, but empties out promptly at 1. While nearby places on the avenues are cheek-by-jowl by 11:45, this place is a lovely haven. Very friendly wait staff, high quality and fresh food. Good value for the money. Don't bother with Third Avenue--go to Tunnel Exit Street and 39th and have a nice, pleasant time of it. Pushy people, kindly disregard this review.

This sushi restaurant is hands down the best sushi operation in New York City. From the friendly and attentive service to the tastey and fresh food they are the best. If you order for delivery they have it at your door before you hang up the phone. Woah.
