Just ok sushi
I ordered a dragon roll (eel and cucumber) and it had a strange flavor, not bad, just different. This is 1 of my fave rolls so it was disappointing. Sushi was fresh but not memorable. Miso soup was good. Service was good.

Very good neighborhood place
We've ordered from here twice and were quite happy with our experience. The sushi was tasty and fresh. While it doesn't blow you away, it is good quality and a good value. If you live in the neighborhood, try it sometime.

disappointing take out
I ordered take out from here wanting to try a new place and I was very disappointed! The sushi did not taste fresh but I guess you get what you pay for because it is fairly cheap. The tuna tasted fishy, yuck!

Lunch special is the best!
I've dined here only during my lunch break. It's usually crowded, but within minutes you'll be seated. Akane offers lunch specials just as most other Japanese restaurants, but it offers a decent range of sushi, including a very tasty shrimp tempura roll. I hear the bento boxes are good as well - but beware: the staff tends to mix up teriyaki with tempura and vice versa. Also, there's a $15 min for credit cards.

Great fresh sushi!
I have eaten alot of sushi at many different places for years. At Akane, the salmon sashimi melts in your mouth! The food is fresh and the woman on the phone for delivery is very pleasant. I've ordered from there 15 times and tonight I will take my friend to eat there b/c it's so good. I recommend this place for sure!

Dissapointed
If you are new to Sushi, I guess this place is ok. But if you are serious Sushi eater, pass this place. Yes, it's cheap, you will get full, but quality of the food here just does not compare with other Sushi place. It's just ok take-out quality. Knowing there are tons of good yet still reasonable Japanese rest in mid-town, this one is definately a pass.

Order every day for lunch, it's DELISH!
I order from here almost every day for lunch, and even sometimes for dinner. The value is amazing, and the sushi is so fresh. Don't be afraid to try something that you haven't tried before, because it's all SO good. Ask the owner if you are unsure and she will point you in the right direction. Very FRESH, and Very GOOD! (try the appetizer spring roll w/ crab and mango inside, Mmmm) Oh and everything is good with the ginger dressing or spicy sauce on the side!
