this place rules. it looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but you can't go wrong eating in or taking out. if you do decide to eat there, bring your favorite bottle of wine. akane is BYOB and they are quick to bring over a corkscrew and wine glasses. the sushi lunch special goes til 7:00- great deal. delivery is always quick and efficient. spicy tuna and snow crab rolls are the best.

I had lunch with a colleague here. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and we enjoyed good service from the staff.

This is hands-down my favorite japanese restaurant to order in from (or eat at!). They have amazingly fresh fish and incredible service. If you like crab, this is the place to go for excellent snow crab. They have an appetizer that I love and have gotten many friends hooked on called the Spring Roll Appetizer. It's a delicious combination of their fluffy snow crab, cucumber, avocado, crunchies, and mango. My friends are often willing to come to my apartment (instead of me going to them) just so that we can order spring rolls (and more) from Akane. Every friend that I have introduced to Akane now only order their sushi from them! Also, they are super friendly and the order arrive quickly with everything you asked for! I also think that their prices are better than most places considering the quality and freshness of their fish. When I moved, I called them to make sure they would still deliver to my new address and was relieved to find out that they would...I really love this place!

I got the sashimi lunch. The food came very quickly, but the quality of fish was not as good as other places I've tried.

I used to come with coworkers for the bento box lunch special, but after some time the food got less presentable and the service deteriorated to the point that we would not go back. The special was to include some california roll, and after a wait of 30 minutes, it arrived looking unbelievably amateurish. I can make much better than that at home (and I am hardly Japanese) when we looked disappointed, the manager came over and whisk it away to the kitchen, only to return with the exact same sushi on a sushi plate instead of a round plate. They were out of the dessert promised in the special, so we asked for a substitute. The waitress brought the orange wedges they bring with the check we knew that was not an acceptable substitute.

I ordered a dragon roll (eel and cucumber) and it had a strange flavor, not bad, just different. This is 1 of my fave rolls so it was disappointing. Sushi was fresh but not memorable. Miso soup was good. Service was good.

We've ordered from here twice and were quite happy with our experience. The sushi was tasty and fresh. While it doesn't blow you away, it is good quality and a good value. If you live in the neighborhood, try it sometime.
