I had the crunchy salmon wonton appetizer it was only 3 small pieces. Dynamite (boring) and Philly roll (good) all for $28 plus tip. It was expensive to me considering how small the rolls are. I wanted salmon tempura but I'm still looking for a sushi place that has it and a good volcano roll. I'm in the wrong city I guess for good sushi

I was very excited to try this place and they definitely exceeded my expectations. The decor is nice, nothing too over the top, but a nice place to enjoy a very yummy dinner! Pricing is great in my opinion for sushi! And the food...well it was amazing! I'm always iffy when trying a new sushi place, but their sushi was fresh and the chef rolls were creative and new, something you don't always see in NY where most rolls are typical. We will definitely be going back! We went with 7 people and they were able to accommodate us and we all LOVED our meal!

I'm a long time resident of Hell's Kitchen and was looking for a new place to eat last night. We were coaxed into Ajisai by the manager who promised us excellent sushi and service. We were not disappointed about the food (service was abrupt, like most Asian restaurants). Everything we had was delicious, and reasonably priced considering the quality. The chicken lettuce wraps were yummy. My friends had the Magic roll which they thought was aptly named. Even the regular maki rolls were good. Plus the presentation is lovely. We will definitely be back, especially after getting a coupon for 20% off in the mail.

Average Sushi at best. Ordered the yellow-tail roll with jalapeno peppers and there was no jalapeno but I did get green pepper in it. The rest of the sushi was nothing special.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem and at first glance, it seemed pretty good as far as your standard Japanese Restaurants go. We were happily surprised when everything was amazing. The service was outstanding and the presentation is artfully top notch. The sushi chefs really know what they are doing. One of us being a vegetarian, enjoyed their homemade miso soup and garden spring roll sushi (YUM!) as welcome treat. (In fact, I can't wait to go back and eat the garden spring roll again!) The sushi is top grade and everything was served in a timely manner. We even went back the next day. :)
