without question...the very best in brooklyn

rarely if ever do you find this sort of excellence in a sushi joint. the service is so good that I'm mentioning it first before I share about the perfect every time, deliciously memorable food. the service is (ask for Simon or general manager Kevin) as good as any meticulous, trendy, slow food establishment (Brooklyn and Manahattan). The timing is insightful. The cold is perfectly cold and crisp, every time, The warm exact. brown rice never ever a problem. I can't express how grateful I am. By far it is the only sushi place I will go to in my neighborhood after trying most of them. The portions are gracious, the fish always right on..... delicious, perfect service. if you like sushi this is it.

    Great discovery!

A friend and I had lunch at Agi's yesterday (Wednesday), and I must say we were very pleased. We both ordered from the lunch special menu (only $12!!). My friend had the beef teriyaki and I ordered a 3-roll combo. Both entrees were absolutely delicious. The rolls were some of the best I've had anywhere, with a major plus being that they were only minimally coated wth sushi rice. Ordered green-tea iced tea (super refreshing on a hot day!). The house appetizer was beautiful to look at and very tasty, to boot (a crispy, spicy-tuna wonton with guacamole & apple mayo dressing). The house green salad with ginger dressing was fresh and crunchy. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming and patiently explained the ingredients in the rolls I wasn't familiar with. (Perhaps the menu should do that work for him, rather than just list the names of the rolls, i.e., Tokyo Roll, etc.) The restaurant itself is very calming and very nicely decorated with a marine-inspired atmosphere. Very comfortable booths and attractive dining tables. Stunning, long bar area. (And, ladies, a modern, spacious, and super-clean restroom.) I am looking forward to having dinner here, and will make another trip from Manhattan just for this! This new restaurant deserves your business and I wish it much success!
