quiet dinner
This place is around the block from me, so my boyfriend and I go there for dinner a lot. We really enjoy the chicken dishes, but haven't ventured beyond that. It's really quiet for dinner, so the server takes good care of us. We get a good buzz off the super cheap wine. Warning: you will smell like Indian food when you leave.

Habitual Bummer
This food is weird. It doesn't taste like the Indian food from other places, and these ancient formulas seem hard to butcher. Saag Paneer tastes like microwavable spinach souffle. Pakoras seem baked in cornbread batter, rather than fried in heaven. The Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like it was made with canned spaghetti sauce and shaky parmesan cheese. Have never finished a meal here. I advise you not to start one.

Standard Food, fast takeout, polite service
If you're a gradstudent living in the area, wondering where to get a quick 15min dinner before you return to a long night of work: this is the place. The food is fairly mild, so don't expect to burn your tongue off. But they make it quickly and give you a large amount for 1 meal. I ordered the butter chicken and it came with rice and dal and 3 chutneys; all of which were pretty decent

Just. Plain. Rude.
The food is fine. Not very good yet not bad either. But the service is hostile, surly and aggressive. And, as poor service influences the way one experiences food, one is best advised to go elsewhere or come prepared for battle !

My favorite Indian Food in NYC!
The people here are always warm and welcoming. Very attentive. The food is excellent - the Tikka Masala is the best around! Perfect for takeout or somplace quiet to eat in. I have been coming here since 1999 and have never been dissapointed! I even lived upstairs in the Plimpton dorm and loved having them right downstairs :-)

Left Happy!
I came in for lunch yesterday and I was not disappointed. I was seated right away with a friendly greeting. I ordered the Mulligatawny soup as a appetizer and it was delcious. I also had the chicken saag with a side order of Naan. The chicken was so yummy. The naan was fresh and also very tasty. The staff was very attentive. I was very pleased with this place. I had tons of leftovers and I only spent $15 bucks! I definitely recommend this place.
