    What a disappointment

If it weren’t for the good music (there’s an in-house DJ) and the nice server we got on a recent night, I would have considered this place a complete rip-off. Be ready for the tiniest food portions; and whatever you do, please don’t fall prey to what they call the grand tasting, which is nothing else but the smallest $42 combination of ceviches. Note to the bar: If you are charging $12 to $14 for a drink, please make sure to add a fair amount of alcohol to it. A weak and expensive cocktail make the place look desperate!

    Worst Value in Neighborhood!

I live a few blocks from this restaurant, so was eager to try it. What a disappointment! Overpriced and just shy of inedible. Stingy portions to boot (though I wasn't complaining about the portions once I tasted the quality of the food). A far better bet for upscale Mexican is Toloache, at 50th and Eighth. Nice atmosphere, that's all I can say as a plus.

    Amazing food... subpar cocktails...

I was beyond surprised at the quality of the food at Agua Dulce. Usually, the new places along 9th Ave. are flashy but lack substance. But we were pleasantly surprised at this place. We split the Guac Tipico and Guac Ahumado. We also had the Shrimp Ceviche as an appetizer. For main courses, I had the Crispy Organic Salmon and my friend had the Churrasco. Everything was DIVINE. I don't even know what my favorite part was because it was alllllll incredible... with the surprising exception of the traditional Guac Tipico, which was pretty bland. And the drinks left something to be desired. But the food was out of this world. The ceviche was the best I've ever had.

    Lovely ambiance and service

The place is quite beautiful, and while the food is good, but not great, the ambiance, the drinks and service were all top notch. Our waiter was really great, very knowledgeable about the menu, and didn't seem to mind me being difficult about Atlantic vs. Alaskan salmon issue. Fun place overall.

    Not recommended

The only pros about this place were the drinks and the place itself. It's beautiful inside. The food was not good at all, especially for the price. Maybe it's because I'm Latina and I was expecting much more. The food seemed pretty tasteless. The yucca fries were soggy. Just a big pricey mistake!

    nicely flavored food

aqua dulce is a very appealing restaurant..the colors and decor are very calming..would love to go back when the patio is open..guacamole could have had more spice and the salad was definately not worth the price but the entrees were very good..had the duck which was excellent..the fruit flavoring was really good and portions were substantial..our server was very attentive..would definately go back

I can't wait to go back

Hey all you naysayers, did we go to the same restaurant? First off, the drinks were Fantastic, which is a plus right off the bat. The service was great, not rushed, but yet attentive. The food was YUMMEEEEE. The guacamole was superb and I had the Brazillian Seafood Stew which was delicious. The shrimp cervice was also great. My friends loved their Arroz con Pollo as well. So I say, give it another try; they seemed to have worked out the kinks because I have no complaints and I am very particular. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
