    Fun atmostphere...okay food

lively atmosphere--okay food...it didn't come out very hot. plantain chips are great! They make their drinks strong!

    totally different

I loved it I felt like I was back in time. once your inside you forget about the world outside the host was very very nice. The drinks where outstanding the sangrita ..grita. the food was delightfully seasoned. I enjoy myself and I reccommend it to people who like to just go and have a good time and fellowship with each other. reasonably priced especially the happy hour excellent I felt I was somewhere in a little Cuban Bar.

It was more than I expected :)

I went to Agozar last night for a birthday party and I actually had a great time! We had a special prix fixe menu for $23 including 1 drink and different tapas platters... the food seemed like it never stopped coming. The food was great.. they had these little mushroom croquettes that were amazing.. the empanadas were also excellent. I can't even remember all the food that came out, but it was all really tasty. I will say the place is small, but it's also NY. It was difficult to walk around at times, but my 22 friends had trouble mingling at their seats so it was technically our fault :) Considering we took up so much space, I will say the waitress was spinning circles around us. We never waited more than a few minutes for another round of drinks. This place was packed and the 2 servers were keeping up with everything. Kudos to Agozar. Great job :) I'M DEFINITELY COMING BACK!

    Gave it a 2nd Chance and...wow!

they must have gone through serious restructuring because i came back with a few different friends this week and it was Great! The bartender was sweet and not bad to look at either. :-) 2 for 1 happy hour also helped our budget. i think they are worth giving a 2nd chance.

    were not coming back

The waiter was really nice in the beginning of the night but when we asked for extra plantain chips..we were charged a ridiculous amount for them in the end. We thought that was so uncalled for being our bill was way over $250 for 3 people. The food was ok i guess ,I am not a regular on Cuban food. I have had empanadas before and these were pretty blah. I thought the sausage tapas was really greasy and my grilled steak was very "chewy" and dry. My friends said the mojitos were not very strong at all. I don't drink them really and we were not about to attempt to hang around for the happy hour..the bar area is so narrow it gets packed with 18 people you can barely walk through it. I would not come back here to eat.

    so upset..

I was really looking foward to trying this place. I am so embarrassed that I dragged people here and raved about the happy hour. Their big thing is their happy hour 5-8, which is not as it seems. The service is unbelievably slow. There is only one guy behind the bar! He serves the tables outside and makes the drinks for the people dining in the back. My friends are big "happy hour" people but I do fine with 2 or 3 drinks all night..lol My point is is that by the time 8pm rolls around that's about all you will have is 3 or 4 drinks. My friends would have been happier at another happy hour place. Its not worth the slow service. Also, the food was not great, it was dry and very bland. We will not be coming back.

    happy hour not worth it

No they are not authentic cuban at all, anyone seeking that will be highly disappointed. The tapas are super dry and the stuff they called chicken was questionable. The owner is not very friendly at all. The advertised happy hour seems great but once you get there you will notice there is only ONE bartender for the entire bar and tables outside, plus he is making drinks for the people in the dining area. So once happy hour is done and you do the math ..your not so "happy". Time flies in there with really slow and terrible service, there are many other places with great happy hours that may not be until 8pm but you will definitely get more drinks out of them then you would here.
