    Pleasantly surprised

My husband and I were in the area and decided to try it. The bar was packed, so I assumed it was the type of place with great margaritas and subpar food--not the case (well, the margaritas may be tasty, but the food was too). I ordered a chicken with yellow and red pepper sauce and it was flavorful, moist, and filling with tasty sides of blue corn tortillas stuffed with cheese. My hubby liked his enchiladas too. Our side of spinach was a little oily, and our waiter, though helpful and friendly, was hard to find at times, but I'd go back. The entrees are pricey (about $18 to $25), but I didn't mind because the atmosphere was lovely and the food was yummy. Order the xango for dessert--banana and cheesecake-stuffed pastries with vanilla ice cream.

    Perfect Spot

A group of 12 of us went out to celebrate my birthday and were extremely happy with our choice of Agave. The food was fantastic, the margaritas delicious (and huge!), the ambiance hip (although a bit loud), and our server was fantastic. Not only did our waiter go out of his way to bring me a free dessert- he brought something else for the whole table too! Couldn't have asked for a better night. This is my new Mexican spot for sure.

    Poor service

I pretty much stopped going here. I always enjoyed the food and drinks but the staff have no clue what they're doing.

    Zero Service, Fab Short Ribs

Okay so sue me. I know by now never to go out on Saturday Night in the village. Lived here all my life, I shoudda knowd better. Nobody greeted me. I was the invisible man. I had to find the ring master of that circus for a table and a waiter. My needs are simple; I ordered an order of short ribs and a glass of soda water. Eventually somebody else brought the ribs, with an aroma that promised delicious dining. A bunch of raw carrots came along for the ride with some undercooked green beans. To prove they were indeed ribs, there were three big bare bones on my plate. Like who needed bare bones? The ribs redeemed everything. Rich, deep flavors, perfectly cooked well marbled meat, all on top of mashed potatoes. I gave up, then I swooned. Chef might have cooked the carrots some more, and the undercooked green beans were so tough they were annoying. Host maitre d' was terribly busy entertaining his friends with his back to his guests, namely me. The waiters also need some serious training. This place has potential, and I predict this place will soon go down due to the effrontery they call "service" If I wanted to be ignored, I'd have stayed at home. This is one place that has not got its act together.

    Delish!

My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday at Agave last night, and we had a great time! The atmosphere was classy with dim lights and white adobo style walls, and the food was delicious! We started off with the Blue Crab Chipotle Spinach Dip, which was out of this world!! -- a must order! We both ordered quesadillas for our entrees -- chicken for me, and steak for him -- and thought they were delicious and nicely sized. My boyfriend enjoyed every last bit of the cheesecake with guava sauce for dessert, which tasted delicious and was uniquely presented! We can't wait to go back sometime soon :)

    subpar quality of food today

not sure what happened tonight. bad service and bad food. i have been there many times and have had great experiences but even though the restaurant was half empty the waiter could not keep up. also the quality of the food left a number of wasting our meals (the shrimp seemed like it was from another century). the only redeeming quality were the magaritas

    this is not the menu!

the real prices are double...I went looking for the mole stated online and the first server did not even know what that was. The flight which is supposed to come with three 1 and a half ounce shots of tequila comes with three barely half full shots. The spinach dip tasted like nothing. I left an empty drink at the edge of the table during mid appetizer and the server did not return for about 15 minutes although it was not that busy. The actual entrees were ok but by then I was pretty annoyed. Do not recommend.
