Afghan Kebab House II

A very good place. The kebobs are excellent, rice is great and the yogurts are a must. The flavored tea might be the best tea I have ever had. And I don't even like tea usually! One of the best overall places for the food and the reasonable price.

The food here always tastes wonderful- whether eating there or getting take out. So much flavor! Their rice is outstanding-the perfect amount of coriander. Honestly, I eat the rice by itself as a meal.. It is that filling.. yet I don't feel all gross afterward. Just full and satisfied.

Consistently well-prepared food, kind service. The food is very tasty, if not particularly adventurous. The restaurant is never too crowded, but rarely empty. Very comfortable place to spend an evening, you will not be rushed. I order delivery very frequently and have never had to wait long at all.

We've been to the place twice and both times it was nothing short of great. The rice is to die for, it's a perfect blend of coriander, garam masala and raisins topped with shredded carrots. Very aromatic. The meats are great as well you have a choice of chicken, lamb, or kofta kebabs. Delicious. The service is not bad as well. We'll definitely have to revisit the place again.

I think this place is fantastic. There aren't many BYO places on the Upper East Side, but Afghan Kebab House II lets you bring your own whatever. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is great. They have a full menu that allows carnivores and vegetarians to both find something they'll like. Most main courses come with a tasty salad with a yougurt dressing and all come with delicious Afghani rice and flatbread. On the tables are spicy green and red sauces that are great flavor enhancers on the kebabs. As for the service, some may rate it as "slow" but I want to be semantically kind and call think of it as "not-rushed." But, either way, they are extremely friendly and always smiling and accomodating. This place is perfect for a cheap, quiet night out with good, different food. Highly recommend.

The food is delicious and came in exactly 20 minutes.

After an hour had passed by since my order, I called them to tell them that if the food doesn't arrive in 5 minutes I wont accept it. The guy's response was "that's perfectly fine by me". Obviously I wasn't the first person to have done this. When the food didn't arrive I ordered from another place. The delilvery guy finally showed up while I was in the middle of eating my food from the other place. Delivery is not recommended.
