A neighborhood gem
The only BYOB in our neighborhood. A quiet, pleasant place.

I kinda like it
I expected this restaurant to be better, because of the 'II'. The food is great, but the phone service is poor. My family still dines here every now and then. I'd give my grand total rate 4.5 stars.

Great food, slow service
I really like this good neighborhood place and will keep going back, but it's a bit too expensive for us for ordering in. However, going there is great, and it's BYO, so that helps to keep the cost of a meal out lower. My favorite dish is the Narange Palau. The Aushak appetizer is also really great.

rude phone service, overpriced
I've been to this restaurant several times over the past couple of years and ordered delivery a couple of times... while the food is pretty good, the latest price increase is way too much and it's not worth it anymore. And the guy who took my order every time I've called is incredibly rude. Do not recommend!

Romantic Cave in the wall :)
Never having tried Afghan fare, we didn't know what to expect, but were greeted by its immersive decor. Pretty chandeliers and romantic lighting in a cave-like space with archaelogical artifacts on the walls. The waiter took time to explain the dishes, and I must say they were quite accurate :) Aushak (an appetizer of dumplings soaked in yoghurt and topped with ground beef) received mixed reviews from our group (and certainly tasted better than it looked). Palau Budinjan (eggplant) was extremely yummy. The combo kebabs were good but the fish combo was outstanding. (Don't be deceived by the whitish appearance of the "spicy fish"... it really is rather spicy!) On the whole we found the portions rather small for the price. But definitely a good place to come.

pretty good
note: prices are a bit higher. fair warning so you are not shocked when you get there. that said, the food is pretty good! we had the beef and lamb kebabs. both very tender and succulent. comes with rice and a piece of bread, you can ask for yogurt, they didn't charge us for it. service was very good. byob is great!
