I order and eat here about once per week. I love the food! I will agree that service is far better if you call ahead and just pick up the food because they are pretty accurate about it taking 15-20 min - sometimes closer to the 20 min - but I feel it is worth the wait. I have never waited an hour for a delivery but I have waited 30-35 min before. When I dine in sometimes I wait for a long time as well - especially if they are busy and it is a thur or a wkend night - but I could say that about most of the restaurants along 9th ave on any of these nights. But you should def go here - call ahead and pick it up or dine in if you are not in a big rush. The food is worth being patient for!

I've waited about five months to post this. I have been ordering delivery from this restaurant for over 16 years. In the past 4 or 5 months, I must say with all honesty that the food, while still tasty, has showed up, more often than not, about 1.5-2 hours after I phone in the order. The truth about the status of your order or delivery is never handled in an honest manner. ("He just left. Be there in ten minutes"-heard every half hour for 2 hours). By my calculations, this has now happened 6 out of the last 10 times I ordered deliver from here. There, you are warned.

I love this place. My dad used to bring it home to us (in NJ) when I was growing up. Now when my family visits me the request to go here. The meat kebobs and the vegetable plates are all delicious. We've never ordered anything we didn't like. The waiter is quiet, but thankfully doesn't rush you out. It's dark and very carpeted, but you're there for the food not the furniture. Enjoy it!

This is not only our favorite Afghan restaurant restaurant in the city, but also one of our favorite restaurants period. We order from here at least once a week, and have eaten in the restaurant numerous times, often bringing friends and family from out of town and other parts of the city. The kebabs are always tasty, fresh and tender, and are out of this world with the delicious condiments (red (spicy) sauce, green (sweet) sauce and white (tart) sauce) and warm Afghan bread. Our favorite dish is the chicken kabli pulao. Service is friendly the waiters are kind and always give extra bread, etc. upon request without charging you. When we deliver, everything arrives warm, fresh, and well-packed. Ambience is average but you really come here for the kebabs.

I have been going here for 5 years regularly and there has never been one time that the food has not been fresh and piping hot. The salad is always crispy too. Only one time was the bread not up to par and I think their samosa could be better but other than that, excellent food everytime. The meat is always succulent and tender. The service is outstanding and the main waiter, Nassir, is always respectful and on his toes to make sure everything runs smoothly.

We had two starters, lentil soup, and 3 kabob dishes. We were surprised how tasty everything was, tender meat, good, not overwhelming seasoning. The bread was fantastic. And we brought our own wine, which is always a plus for our group. Not expensive, good value for the money. We will go again.
