Best Afghan in midtown west
excellent food and taste. would describe the food as a much cleaner, higher quality middle eastern food compared to the halal food trucks on 53rd st. ordered over 10 times delivery. never had to wait longer than expected. highly recommended!

Tiny Resturant Decent Food
I ate here last summer and really enjoyed the food. The dinner menu is moderately priced but the cuisine is authentic. The owner even sat down with us after dinner it was a Sunday and the crowd was dying down. We asked the owner about Kabul and life in Afghanistan. We really enjoyed our dining experience.

Best Afghan in this area
This is one of my fav Afghan places in midtown. The food is really tasty especially the spicy chicken with rice. It's what I order on those staying in nights...yum.

good delivery time
I disagree with prior review about delivery time. I've been ordering from here for over 8 years -- from two different buildings: One building is about 4 blocks away and delivery time averages from 10 to 20 minutes. My new building is 7 blocks and one avenue away and it takes a bit longer, but still averages 15 minutes to 1/2 hour, which I think is reasonable. Food is great, plentiful and reasonably priced. I just miss eating there in person, since I'm further away and don't have much time for lunch. Recommend the Tandoori Half chicken or the spicy chicken (almost the same but a tiny bit spicier).

Delicious and Authentic Food
I have been coming to the Afghan Kebab House #1 for 2 years now at least a few times a month and each time I have eaten there the food has been outstanding...I have never been disappointed. The meats are cooked to perfection every time. The service is outstanding as well. There is usually one waitor who waits on all the tables in the establishment. He is very kind and extremely capable and has a good rapport with returning customers as well as the new ones...the place runs like clockward. The only downside (which to me is not an issue) is that it is small. So large parties may find it problematic to accomadate many people. All in all, without a doubt, I would highly recommend the Afghan Kebab House. You will not be dissapointed!

Good food and good atmosphere
I took a group of people here. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Nothing but good things to say about this place.
