My boyfriend and I come here all the time! The place is very cozy (only 10 tables or so) but the staff is very very friendly! Also, you can bring you own wine with no fee which is always a plus and everything I've tried is delicious! One snag: I ordered from them once and they REALLY skimped on the portion... better to just dine in

As much as I wanted to like it, this place was essentially very ordinary... The service was "barely there" and really only acceptable on a neighbourhood sandwich shop level. Food took quite a while to arrive. Food was distinctly average. A few small chunks of meat on a pile of rice, accompanied with an embarassing mound of salad on the side. The sauce provided is excellent though. Atmosphere was non existent. No music at all. Just a loud idiot lawyer across from me.

Even though there was only 1 wait staff, and 8 out of about 10 tables are being served, I did not feel underserved. The wait staff managed to notice and pay attention to our needs, filling in water just in time and serving food at the right pace. he is also helpful when I asked for explanations and recommendations on dishes. Food was excellent. The rice that comes with kebab was great. Definitely try the scallion turnover appetizer. I received an extra plate of rice and extra appetizer for free too.

Excellent Food! Not too personable on service... BUT! The tastes are too die for. Try the chicken kebob.

Reasonably priced & delicious appetizers. I love lamb prepared very nicely here. Came here 15 yrs ago with a friend who took me. That's how long it's been, but working at 39th & 7th it's tough to get here unless we have lots of time for lunch, dinner preferred. The Afghan bread dipped in their sauces & gravies & saffron rice - what a treat!

The rice is delicious, the dill sauce delightful. Just be careful not to squeeze the bottle too vigorously with excitement--the cap plunked off mine and I got way more than intended. Not that I'm complaining. I can't get enough of Afghan Kebab House and it's ridiculously good sauce. The cauliflower, spinach and pumkin were all incredible. Be sure to get the dinner rather than the sides, because the rice and dill topping are so worth it.
